Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12128

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let fear of people never stop any one of you from speaking according to the truth when he sees it, or from admonishing a great person (that is, a ruler), for this neither brings death nearer nor pushes provision away; a man should speak according to the truth and admonish the great (that is, the ruler)." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah have recorded part of this narration.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except al-Tabarani's teacher.
