Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If there is a cure in anything, then it is in the cupping blade, or in drinking honey, or in cauterising the place of pain; and I dislike cauterisation, I do not like it."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abdullah bin al-Walid bin Qays, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If there is a cure in anything, then it is in cupping, or in drinking honey, or in cauterising with fire applied to the place of pain; and I do not like to be cauterised."
Ahmad recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except Suwayd bin Qays, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "If there is a cure in anything among your medicines (i.e. methods of treatment), then it is in cupping." (The narrator says:) I think the report also contains these words: "or in licking honey."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Muhammad bin As'ad al-Taghlibi, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy) and Abu Zur'ah called da'if (weak). Its remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib bin Yazid (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to have cupping done, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People have not used any treatment better than it, or (better than) drinking honey."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Yazid bin Abd al-Malik al-Nawfali, who is matruk (abandoned); according to one view, in one of the differing reports transmitted from Yahya bin Ma'in, there is no harm in this narrator.

Instruct your Ummah to have cupping done, to use costus (qust, a herb), and to use shuniz (black seed)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Attaf bin Khalid, who is thiqah (trustworthy), though he has been criticised.

Abu al-Hakam al-Bajali relates: I came to Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was having cupping done. He said: O Abu Hakim! Will you have cupping done? I replied: I have never had cupping done. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) stated: "Sayyiduna Jibril informed him that cupping is the most beneficial of all the (various) treatments people use." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah recorded this report, but they did not mention Sayyiduna Jibril in it.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Muhammad bin Qays al-Nakha'i; Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned him but neither criticised him nor declared him trustworthy. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Uyaynah bin Hisn or al-Aqra' bin Habis came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: "What is this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is cupping, and it is the best of what you use as medicine."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Umar bin Hafs al-Umari, who is thiqah (trustworthy) yet there is weakness in him; the remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Yazid al-Khatmi narrates this from his father: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Five things are among the sunnahs of the Messengers: modesty, forbearance, cupping, using the siwak, and applying perfume."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Muhammad al-Aslami. Al-Dhahabi said: He is majhul (unknown). Al-Hakim (may Allah have mercy on him) recorded a hadith through him in al-Mustadrak, and more than one person has narrated from him.

Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for a cupper, who cupped him with a horn and a blade. A man from Banu Fazarah saw him and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Why do you let this man cut your flesh?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know what this is? This is cupping, and it is the best of what you use as medicine (that is, as treatment)."
