It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): (The narrator says:) To my knowledge, this is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (who said): "When the blood of one of you surges (that is, he suffers from high blood pressure), let him shed it, even if he does so with an arrowhead."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin al-Qasim Abu Ibrahim, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy), while Ahmad declared him da'if (weak) and called him a liar.
