Sayyiduna Imam Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On Friday there is an hour in which whoever has himself cupped will die."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin al-Ala', and he is kadhdhab (a liar).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has himself cupped on Wednesday or on Saturday and is then afflicted with leprosy (white patches), let him blame no one but himself."
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Sulayman bin Arqam, and he is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Have yourselves cupped on the 17th, 19th and 21st (of the month); in that case the blood will not surge and kill you. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Tirmidhi and others recorded this as a marfu' hadith (attributed to the Prophet), but without these words: "In that case the blood will not surge and kill you."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Layth bin Abi Sulaym, who is thiqah (trustworthy), but he is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in his chain).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On Tuesday Surah al-Hadid was revealed; on Tuesday Allah Almighty created iron; on Tuesday the son of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) killed his brother." (The narrator says:) So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cupping on Tuesday.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Maslamah bin Ali al-Khushani, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was being cupped; this was on a Tuesday, the 17th of the month. I said: "Are you being cupped today?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! Whoever among you finds the 17th of the month falling on a Tuesday, let him not pass beyond it before being cupped. Have yourselves cupped (on that date)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Nafi' bin Hurmuz, and he is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the 17th of the month falls on a Tuesday, cupping at that time is a remedy for the illnesses of the whole year."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Zayd bin Abi al-Hawari al-Ammi, who is da'if (weak); al-Daraqutni (may Allah have mercy on him) and others declared him thiqah (trustworthy). The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.

Muhammad bin Sirin said: The most beneficial cupping is that which is done in the days when the month is waning.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, under the entry of the person named Ibrahim. Its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), except for al-Sari bin Yahya: he did not hear from Muhammad bin Sirin.
