It is reported about Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he sold a plot of land which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had granted him as a fief; it was near the house of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he sold it for eight thousand dirhams. He stated that before this a man had already made him an offer, offering him ten thousand dirhams for it, but I refused to sell it to him. Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The people at the back edge of a house have more right to their back edge." (The narrator says:) And Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) was (his) nearest (neighbour). (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: This narration is in the "Sahih" with different wording.
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ibrahim bin Ali bin Hasan al-Rafi'i, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy), and Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and a group declared da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Yazid bin al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I recited a hundred verses of the poetry of Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Whenever I recited a verse to him, he would say: More! And in that same gathering he said: "A neighbour is more entitled to his proximity (that is, his neighbourhood)."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Khalid bin Yazid al-Umawi, and he is matruk (abandoned) and has been accused of lying. Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy) and also mentioned him in the book "al-Du'afa", saying: He is alone in narrating fabricated reports from trustworthy narrators. Nevertheless, this hadith is authentically established through other routes.
