Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The width of a road shall be seven cubits (dhira', that is, the length from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger)."
Imam Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Suwayd bin Abd al-Aziz, whom Duhaym declared thiqah (trustworthy), and the majority of the imams declared da'if (weak).

Hadith Takhrij«أخرجه المعجم الأوسط للطبراني برقم: 9230»
Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a ruling regarding a courtyard (or an open space outside a house): if its residents wish to construct a building, he ruled regarding it that they shall leave seven cubits in between for the road. In one narration the words are: "Regarding a courtyard that is shared among people, he ruled that the road shall be seven cubits." Imam Tabarani recorded all these narrations in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and Imam Ahmad mentioned the meaning of the first narration within a long hadith, which will come later, if Allah wills. The narrator named Ishaq did not meet Sayyiduna Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him).
