«لو نجا أحد من ضمة القبر لنجا سعد بن معاذ ولقد ضم ضمة ثم روخي عنه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If anyone could escape the squeeze of the grave, Sa'd bin Mu'adh would have escaped it. He was squeezed once, then it was relieved from him."

«لو نجا أحد من ضمة القبر لنجا هذا الصبي»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If anyone could escape the squeeze of the grave, this child would have escaped it."

«لو نزل موسى فاتبعتموه وتركتموني لضللتم أنا حظكم من النبيين وأنتم حظي من الأمم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If Musa were to descend and you followed him and abandoned me, you would go astray. I am your share among the prophets, and you are my share among the nations."

«لولا أخشى أنها من الصدقة لأكلتها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid that it is from the charity (sadaqah), I would have eaten it."

«لولا الهجرة لكنت امرءا من الأنصار ولو سلك الناس واديا أو شعبا لسلكت وادي الأنصار وشعبهم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansar. And if the people were to go through a valley or a mountain pass, I would go through the valley of the Ansar and their mountain pass."

«لولا الهجرة لكنت امرءا من الأنصار ولو سلك الناس واديا أو شعبا لكنت مع الأنصار»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from the Ansar. And if the people were to go through a valley or a mountain pass, I would be with the Ansar."

«لولا أن أشق على المؤمنين لأمرتهم بتأخير العشاء وبالسواك عند كل صلاة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to the believers, I would have commanded them to delay the Isha prayer and to use the miswak at every prayer."
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to the believers, I would have commanded them to delay the Isha prayer and to use the miswak at every prayer."
«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم أن يؤخروا العشاء إلى ثلث الليل أو نصفه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay the Isha prayer until a third of the night or half of it."
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to delay the Isha prayer until a third of the night or half of it."
«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم أن يصلوها هكذا» - يعني العشاء نصف الليل -
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to pray it (i.e. the Isha prayer) like this, at midnight."

«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at every prayer."
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at every prayer."
«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة ولأخرت العشاء إلى ثلث الليل»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at every prayer, and I would have delayed the Isha prayer until a third of the night."

«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك مع كل وضوء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak with every ablution."

«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم عند كل صلاة بوضوء ومع كل وضوء بسواك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to perform ablution for every prayer and to use the miswak with every ablution."
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have commanded them to perform ablution for every prayer and to use the miswak with every ablution."
«لولا أن أشق على أمتي لفرضت عليهم السواك مع الوضوء ولأخرت العشاء الآخرة إلى نصف الليل»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have made the miswak obligatory upon them along with ablution, and I would have delayed the Isha prayer until midnight."
"Were I not afraid of causing hardship to my Ummah, I would have made the miswak obligatory upon them along with ablution, and I would have delayed the Isha prayer until midnight."
«لولا أن الرسل لا تقتل لضربت أعناقكما»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that envoys are not killed, I would have struck off both your necks."
"Were it not that envoys are not killed, I would have struck off both your necks."
«لولا أن الكلاب أمة من الأمم لأمرت بقتلها فاقتلوا منها كل أسود بهيم وما من أهل بيت يرتبطون كلبا إلا نقص من عملهم كل يوم قيراط إلا كلب صيد أو كلب حرث أو كلب غنم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that dogs are a nation (a community among the creatures), I would have commanded that they be killed. So kill every jet-black one among them. And there is no household that keeps a dog except that a qirat is deducted from their deeds every day, except a hunting dog, a farm dog, or a dog that guards sheep."

«لولا أن الكلاب أمة من الأمم لأمرت بقتلها كلها فاقتلوا منها الأسود البهيم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that dogs are a nation, I would have commanded that all of them be killed. So kill the jet-black one among them."

«لولا أن الناس حديث عهدهم بكفر وليس عندي من النفقة ما يقوى على بنيانه لكنت أدخلت فيه من الحجر خمسة أذرع ولجعلت لها بابا يدخل الناس منه وبابا يخرج منه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that the people have only recently come out of disbelief, and that I do not have the funds that would suffice for its construction, I would have included five cubits of the Hatim in it, and I would have made for it a door through which people enter and a door through which they exit."

«لولا أن تجد صفية في نفسها لتركته حتى تأكل العافية حتى يحشر من بطونها» - يعني حمزة -
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were I not afraid that Safiyyah would feel (pain) in her heart, I would have left him (Hamzah) as he is, until the beasts and birds ate him and he would be raised from their bellies."

«لولا أن لا تدافنوا لدعوت الله أن يسمعكم عذاب القبر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that you would stop burying one another, I would have supplicated to Allah to let you hear the punishment of the grave."

«لولا أن قومك حديث عهد بجاهلية لهدمت الكعبة ولجعلت لها بابين»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that your people have only recently come out of Jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic ignorance), I would have demolished the Ka'bah and made two doors for it."
"Were it not that your people have only recently come out of Jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic ignorance), I would have demolished the Ka'bah and made two doors for it."
«لولا أن قومك حديثوعهد بجاهلية لأنفقت كنز الكعبة في سبيل الله ولجعلت بابها بالأرض ولأدخلت فيها من الحجر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that your people have only recently come out of Jahiliyyah, I would have spent the treasure of the Ka'bah in the path of Allah, made its door level with the ground, and included (a part) of the Hatim in it."
"Were it not that your people have only recently come out of Jahiliyyah, I would have spent the treasure of the Ka'bah in the path of Allah, made its door level with the ground, and included (a part) of the Hatim in it."
«لولا أنك رسول لضربت عنقك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were you not an envoy, I would have struck off your neck."
"Were you not an envoy, I would have struck off your neck."
«لولا أنكم تذنبون لخلق الله خلقا يذنبون فيغفر لهم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If you did not commit sins, Allah would create a creation who would commit sins so that He might forgive them."
"If you did not commit sins, Allah would create a creation who would commit sins so that He might forgive them."
«لولا بنو إسرائيل لم يخبث الطعام ولم يخنز اللحم ولولا حواء لم تخن أنثى زوجها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not for the Children of Israel, food would not spoil and meat would not rot; and were it not for Hawwa (Eve), no woman would betray her husband."
"Were it not for the Children of Israel, food would not spoil and meat would not rot; and were it not for Hawwa (Eve), no woman would betray her husband."
«لولا حداثة عهد قومك بالكفر لنقضت البيت فبنيته على أساس إبراهيم وجعلت له خلفا فإن قريشا لما بنت البيت استقصرت»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not that your people have only recently come out of disbelief, I would have demolished the House and rebuilt it on the foundations of Ibrahim, and I would have made a door for it at the back as well, for when Quraysh built the House, they cut it short."

«لولا ضعف الضعيف وسقم السقيم لأخرت صلاة العتمة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Were it not for the weakness of the weak and the sickness of the sick, I would have delayed the Isha prayer."
"Were it not for the weakness of the weak and the sickness of the sick, I would have delayed the Isha prayer."
«لولا ما مضى من كتاب الله لكان لي ولها شأن»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had this not (already) been decreed in the Book of Allah, the matter between me and her would have been different."
"Had this not (already) been decreed in the Book of Allah, the matter between me and her would have been different."
«لولا ما مس الحجر من أنجاس الجاهلية ما مسه ذوعاهة إلا شفي وما على الأرض شيء من الجنة غيره»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had the Black Stone not been touched by the impurities of Jahiliyyah, any sick person who touched it would have been cured; and there is nothing on earth from Paradise other than it."

«لو يعطى الناس بدعواهم لادعى ناس دماء رجال وأموالهم ولكن اليمين على المدعى عليه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If people were given (their claims) on the basis of their claims alone, some people would claim the blood and wealth of others; but the oath is upon the one against whom the claim is made."

«لو يعلم الذي يشرب وهو قائم ما في بطنه لاستقاء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the one who drinks while standing knew what is in his stomach, he would make himself vomit."
"If the one who drinks while standing knew what is in his stomach, he would make himself vomit."
«لو يعلم المار بين يدي المصلي ماذا عليه لكان أن يقف أربعين خيرا له من أن يمر بين يديه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the one who passes in front of a person praying knew what (sin) is upon him, standing for forty would be better for him than passing in front of him."
"If the one who passes in front of a person praying knew what (sin) is upon him, standing for forty would be better for him than passing in front of him."
«لو يعلم المؤمن ما عند الله من العقوبة ما طمع في الجنة أحد ولو يعلم الكافر ما عند الله من الرحمة ما قنط من الجنة أحد»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the believer knew the punishment that is with Allah, no one would hope for Paradise; and if the disbeliever knew the mercy that is with Allah, no one would despair of Paradise."
"If the believer knew the punishment that is with Allah, no one would hope for Paradise; and if the disbeliever knew the mercy that is with Allah, no one would despair of Paradise."
«لو» يعلم الناس ما في النداء والصف الأول ثم لم يجدوا إلا أن يستهموا عليه لاستهموا ولو يعلمون ما في التهجير لاستبقوا إليه ولو يعلمون ما في العتمة والصبح لأتوهما ولو حبوا "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If people knew what (reward) there is in the call to prayer (adhan) and the first row, and then found no way but to draw lots for it, they would draw lots. And if they knew what (reward) there is in going early to the prayer, they would race to it. And if they knew what (reward) there is in the Isha and Fajr prayers, they would surely come to them even if they had to crawl."

«لو» يعلم الناس ما في صلاة العشاء وصلاة الفجر لأتوهما ولو حبوا"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If people knew what (reward) there is in the Isha prayer and the Fajr prayer, they would surely come to them even if they had to crawl."
"If people knew what (reward) there is in the Isha prayer and the Fajr prayer, they would surely come to them even if they had to crawl."
«لو» يعلم الناس من الوحدة ما أعلم ما سار راكب بليل وحده "
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If people knew what I know about being alone, no rider would travel alone at night."
"If people knew what I know about being alone, no rider would travel alone at night."
«لو» يعلم صاحب المسألة ما له فيها لم يسأل"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the one who begs knew what (harm) there is for him in it, he would not beg at all."
"If the one who begs knew what (harm) there is for him in it, he would not beg at all."
"ليأتين على أمتي ما أتى على بني إسرائيل حذوالنعل بالنعل....., وإن بني إسرائيل تفرقت على ثنتين وسبعين ملة وتفترق أمتي على ثلاث وسبعين ملة كلهم في النار إلا ملة واحدة ما أنا عليه وأصحابي"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There will certainly come upon my Ummah what came upon the Children of Israel, as one shoe of a pair resembles the other. And the Children of Israel split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects; all of them will be in the Fire except one sect: that which is upon the way on which I and my Companions are."

«ليأتين على الناس زمان لا يبالي المرء بما أخذ المال؟ أمن حلال أم من حرام؟»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A time will certainly come upon the people when a person will not care whether the wealth he has acquired is from what is lawful or from what is unlawful."

«ليأتين على الناس زمان يطوف الرجل فيه بالصدقة من الذهب ثم لا يجد أحدا يأخذها منه ويرى الرجل الواحد يتبعه أربعون امرأة يلذن به من قلة الرجال وكثرة النساء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A time will certainly come upon the people when a man will go about with charity of gold, but he will not find anyone who will accept it from him; and a single man will be seen with forty women following him, seeking refuge with him because of the scarcity of men and the abundance of women."
