«لو جمع القرآن في إهاب ما أحرقه الله بالنار»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the Qur'an were gathered in a piece of leather, Allah Almighty would not burn it with the Fire."

«لو خرجتم إلى ذود لنا فشربتم من ألبانها وأبوالها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If only you would go out to our camels and drink of their milk and their urine."

«لو دعيت إلى ذراع أو كراع لأجبت ولو أهدي إلي ذراع أو كراع لقبلت»

"If I were invited to (a meal of) a sheep's foreleg or trotter, I would accept; and if I were given a foreleg or a trotter as a gift, I would accept it."

«لو دنا مني لخطفته الملائكة عضوا عضوا» . - يعني أبا جهل -
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If he had come near me, the angels would have snatched him away limb by limb. (This referred to Abu Jahl.)"

«لو رأيتني وأنا أستمع قراءتك البارحة فقد أوتيت مزمارا من مزامير آل دأود»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If only you had seen me as I was listening to your recitation last night, (you would have known that) you have been given one of the flutes of the family of Dawud (i.e. a voice like theirs)."

«لو رجمت أحدا بغير بينة لرجمت هذه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to stone anyone without evidence, I would have stoned this woman."

«لو عاش إبراهيم لكان صديقا نبيا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had Ibrahim lived, he would have been a truthful one (siddiq) and a prophet."

«لو علمت أنك تنظر لطعنت بها في عينك إنما جعل الاستئذان من أجل البصر»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had I known that you were looking, I would have poked this pin into your eye. Seeking permission has been prescribed only for the sake of (guarding) the sight."

«لو غفر لكم ما تأتون إلى البهائم لغفر لكم كثير»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If you were forgiven for the (wrongs) you do to animals, a great deal would be forgiven you."

«لو قضي كان»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If it had been decreed, it would have happened."

«لو قلت بسم الله لرفعتك الملائكة والناس ينظرون إليك حتى تلج بك في جوالسماء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had you said 'Bismillah' (In the name of Allah), the angels would have lifted you up while the people watched you, until they took you into the expanse of the sky."

«لوقلت نعم لوجبت ولو وجبت لم تقوموا بها ولو لم تقوموا بها عذبتم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had I said 'Yes', it would have become obligatory; and had it become obligatory, you would not have been able to carry it out; and had you not been able to carry it out, you would have been punished."

«لوقلتها وأنت تملك أمرك أفلحت كل الفلاح»

"Had you said this word when you were in control of your own affair, you would have attained complete success."

«لوكان أسامة جارية لكسوته وحليته حتى أنفقه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If Usamah were a girl, I would have clothed him and adorned him (with jewellery) until I had him sought after in marriage."

«لوكان الإيمان عند الثريا لتنأوله رجال من فارس»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Even if faith were at the Pleiades (star cluster), some men from Persia would surely attain it."

«لوكان الإيمان عند الثريا لذهب به رجل من أبناء فارس حتى يتنأوله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If faith were at the Pleiades, a man from the sons of Persia would go there until he attained it."

«لوكان القرآن في إهاب ما أكلته النار»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the Qur'an were (kept) in a piece of leather, the Fire would not consume it."

«لوكان المطعم بن عدي حيا ثم كلمني في هؤلاء النتنى لأطلقتهم له» - يعني أسارى بدر -
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If al-Mut'im bin Adi were alive and then spoke to me on behalf of these foul ones (i.e. the captives of Badr), I would have released them for his sake."

«لوكان بعدي نبي لكان عمر بن الخطاب»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If there were to be a prophet after me, it would have been Umar bin al-Khattab."

«لوكان ذلك ضارا ضر فارس والروم» - يعني الغيل -
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If this (breastfeeding during pregnancy) were harmful, it would certainly have harmed Persia and Rome."

«لو كان شيء سابق القدر لسبقته العين»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If anything could outstrip divine decree, the evil eye would outstrip it."

«لو كان شيء سابق القدر لسبقته العين وإذا استغسلتم فاغسلوا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If anything could outstrip divine decree, the evil eye would outstrip it. And when you are asked to wash (for someone afflicted by it), then wash."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the son of Adam had a valley of wealth, he would desire a second one along with it; and if he had two valleys, he would desire a third along with them. Nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust, and Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If the son of Adam had a valley of date palms, he would wish for another like it, then wish for another like it, until he wishes for many valleys. Nothing fills the belly of the son of Adam except dust."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I had gold equal to (the mountain of) Uhud, it would please me that three days should not pass over it while any of it remained with me, except something I set aside for paying off a debt."

«لو كان مسلما فأعتقتم عنه أو تصدقتم عنه أو حججتم عنه بلغه ذلك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had he been a Muslim, and you freed a slave on his behalf, or gave charity on his behalf, or performed Hajj on his behalf, that would have reached him."

«لوكانت الدنيا تعدل عند الله جناح بعوضة ما سقى كافرا منها شربة ماء»

"If this world were worth even the wing of a mosquito to Allah, He would not give a disbeliever even a single sip of water from it."

«لوكانت سورة واحدة لكفت الناس»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If one surah (alone) were to suffice, this surah would have sufficed people."

«لوكنت آمرا أحدا أن يسجد لأحد لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to command anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have commanded the woman to prostrate to her husband."

«لوكنت آمرا أحدا أن يسجد لغير الله لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها والذي نفس محمد بيده لا تؤدي المرأة حق ربها حتى تؤدي حق زوجها كله حتى لوسألها نفسها وهي على قتب لم تمنعه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to command anyone to prostrate to other than Allah, I would have commanded the woman to prostrate to her husband. By the One in whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! A woman does not fulfil the right of her Lord until she fulfils the entire right of her husband, so much so that if he asks her for herself while she is on a camel's saddle, she should not refuse him."

«لوكنت متخذا من أهل الأرض خليلا لاتخذت ابن أبي قحافة خليلا ولكن صاحبكم خليل الله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to take anyone from the people of the earth as a close friend, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah as a close friend; but your companion is the Khalil (intimate friend) of Allah."
"If I were to take anyone from the people of the earth as a close friend, I would have taken Ibn Abi Quhafah as a close friend; but your companion is the Khalil (intimate friend) of Allah."
«لوكنت متخذا من أمتي خليلا دون ربي لاتخذت أبا بكر خليلا ولكن أخي وصاحبي»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to take anyone from my Ummah as a close friend besides my Lord, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend; but he is my brother and my companion."
"If I were to take anyone from my Ummah as a close friend besides my Lord, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend; but he is my brother and my companion."
«لوكنت متخذا خليلا لاتخذت أبا بكر خليلا ولكنه أخي وصاحبي وقد اتخذ الله صاحبكم خليلا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If I were to take anyone as a close friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend; but he is my brother and my companion, and Allah has taken your companion as His Khalil."
"If I were to take anyone as a close friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend; but he is my brother and my companion, and Allah has taken your companion as His Khalil."
«لو كنتم تغرفون من بطحان ما زدتم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Even if you were scooping from (the valley of) Buthan, you would not have given any more."

«لو لم أحتضنه لحن إلى يوم القيامة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had I not embraced it, it would have kept weeping until the Day of Resurrection."

«لو لم تذنبوا لجاء الله تعالى بقوم يذنبون ليغفر لهم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If you did not commit sins, Allah Almighty would bring a people who would commit sins so that He might forgive them."

«لو لم تكله لأكلتم منه ولقام بكم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Had you not measured it, you would have kept eating from it and it would have lasted for you."

«لو لم تكونوا تذنبون لخفت عليكم ما هوأكبر من ذلك العجب العجب»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If you did not commit sins, I would fear for you something greater than that: vanity, vanity (self-admiration)."

«لو لم يبق من الدنيا إلا يوم لطول الله ذلك اليوم حتى يبعث فيه رجل من أهل بيتي يواطئ اسمه اسمي واسم أبيه اسم أبي يملأ الأرض قسطا وعدلا كما ملئت ظلما وجورا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If only one day of this world remained, Allah would lengthen that day until He sends in it a man from my household whose name matches my name and whose father's name matches my father's name. He will fill the earth with equity and justice just as it had been filled with oppression and tyranny."

«لو لم يبق من الدهر إلا يوم لبعث الله رجلا من أهل بيتي يملؤها عدلا كما ملئت جورا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If only one day of time remained, Allah would send a man from my household who will fill it with justice just as it had been filled with oppression."
