Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "On the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Mi'raj), I noticed a fragrance, so I asked: 'O Jibril, what is this fragrance?' He said: 'This is the fragrance of the woman who combed the hair of Pharaoh's daughter, and of her children.' I asked: 'What is her story?' He said: 'She was combing the hair of Pharaoh's daughter when suddenly the comb fell from her hand, and she said: Bismillah (In the name of Allah). Pharaoh's daughter said: Are you referring to my father? She said: No, rather my Lord, your Lord and your father's Lord is Allah. She said: Do you have a lord other than my father? She said: Yes. She (Pharaoh's daughter) said: Shall I tell him this? She said: Yes, tell him. So she told Pharaoh, and he summoned her and said: O so-and-so, do you have a lord other than me? She said: Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. So he ordered a cow (-shaped furnace) of copper to be made, and it was heated intensely; then her children began to be thrown into it one by one. She said: I have a request of you. He asked: What is it? She said: I would like you to gather my bones and the bones of my children in a single cloth and bury us together. He said: That is (granted) to you as an obligation upon us. So her children kept being thrown into the (copper) cow until it came to the turn of an infant son of hers who was still nursing, and she seemed to hesitate because of him. That child said to her (by the power of Allah): O my mother, leap in, for the punishment of this world is lighter than the punishment of the Hereafter.'" Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Four children spoke at a young age: Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him), the child in the incident of Jurayj, the child who bore witness for Yusuf (peace be upon him), and the son of Pharaoh's mashitah (hair-dresser). (This wording is from the narration of Abu Umar al-Darir.)

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When Allah's Prophet Sulayman (peace be upon him) stood in his place of prayer, he would see a tree growing in front of him, and he would ask it: 'What is your name?' It would say: 'Kharrub (carob).' He (peace be upon him) would ask: 'For what purpose have you grown?' It would say: 'For the ruin of this house.' So Sayyiduna Sulayman (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, conceal my death from the jinn, so that mankind may know that the jinn do not know the unseen.'" The narrator said: Then he (peace be upon him) carved a staff from that tree on which he would lean, and the termites ate it, so it fell and he (peace be upon him) fell down. The people estimated how long the termites had been eating it and found it to be a year. Then it became clear to mankind that if the jinn had known the unseen, they would not have remained for a year in that humiliating punishment. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to recite this (verse) in this way.
The jinn thanked the termites, and wherever they (the termites) were, the jinn would bring water to them.

They did not ask him (peace and blessings be upon him) about anything except thirteen questions until he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, and all of them are (mentioned) in the Qur'an. Among them are: "They ask you about the sacred month" [Surah al-Baqarah: 217], "They ask you about wine and gambling" [Surah al-Baqarah: 219], "And they ask you about the orphans" [Surah al-Baqarah: 220], "And they ask you about menstruation" [Surah al-Baqarah: 222], "They ask you about the spoils of war" [Surah al-Anfal: 1], and "And they ask you what they should spend" [Surah al-Baqarah: 219]. They only asked about what would benefit them. He also said: "The first to circumambulate the House were the angels; and between the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner there are graves of the prophets (peace be upon them); and whenever a prophet was harmed by his people, he would leave from among them and worship Allah there until he died."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that when the Qur'an was revealed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would try to receive it hastily with his tongue and lips, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) had to endure great hardship in this. So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this verse: "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it" [Surah al-Qiyamah: 16], meaning: do not try to grasp it hastily. "Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation" [Surah al-Qiyamah: 17], meaning: We will gather it in your chest and make you recite it. "So when We have recited it" [Surah al-Qiyamah: 18], meaning: when We have revealed it, "then follow its recitation" [Surah al-Qiyamah: 18], meaning: listen and remain silent. "Then upon Us is its explanation" [Surah al-Qiyamah: 19], meaning: We will make it clear through your tongue. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was at ease.

Not much time had passed when a man appeared. He (peace and blessings be upon him) called him and said: "On what basis do you and your companions abuse me?" He said: "Call them."
