بَابُ فِي فَضْلِ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ - .

وَأُهْدِيَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - شَاةً وَأَرْغِفَةً ، فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ وَيَأْكُلُونَ .
A goat (its meat) and some loaves of bread were given to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift, so he began eating them and the people also began eating them.
وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِلَحْمِ الظَّهْرِ ; فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَطْيَبِهِ " .
And I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Make it your practice to eat the meat of the back (of the animal), for it is the purest."
وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ ، وَالرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ : قُلْ يَاأَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ ، وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ .
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah al-Kafirun and Surah al-Ikhlas in the two rak'ahs before Fajr and in the two rak'ahs after Maghrib.
وَكَانَ مَهْرُ فَاطِمَةَ بِدْنَ حَدِيدٍ .
The mahr of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was a coat of armour made of iron.
وَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَتَاهُ الْعَبَّاسُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى قَوْمٍ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَوْنِي سَكَتُوا ; وَمَا ذَاكَ إِلَّا لِأَنَّهُمْ يُبْغِضُونَا . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَوَقَدْ فَعَلُوهَا ؟ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ ، أَيَرْجُونَ أَنْ يَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَتِي ، وَلَا يَرْجُوهَا بَنُو عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ! " .
، قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْهُ أَكْلُ الْقِثَّاءِ بِالرُّطَبِ ، وَرَوَى ابْنُ مَاجَهْ مِنْهُ : " أَطْيَبُ اللَّحْمِ لَحْمُ الظَّهْرِ " .

I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when Sayyiduna Abbas also came to him. He said: O Messenger of Allah! I came to some people who were talking among themselves; when they saw me, they fell silent. They did this only because those people bear hatred towards us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Have those people done that? By the One in whose Hand is my soul, not a single one of them can be a believer until he loves you people. Do they hope that they will enter Paradise through my intercession, and will the Banu Abd al-Muttalib not have hope of it? (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: In the Sahih, only the part about eating cucumber with dates is mentioned from it, and Ibn Majah recorded from it the part about the meat of the back being the purest meat.

وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : " لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّكُمْ بِحُبِّي " .

In one narration the words are: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not a single one of you can be a believer until he loves you people because of my love."

وَعَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ : أَقَامَ رِجَالٌ خُطَبَاءَ يَسُبُّونَ عَلِيًّا ، حَتَّى كَانَ آخِرُهُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ : أُنَيْسٌ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " إِنِّي لَأَشْفَعُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِأَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَجَرٍ وَحَجَرٍ " .
وَايْمُ اللَّهِ ! مَا أَحَدٌ أَوْصَلُ لِرَحِمِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَفَيَرْجُوهَا غَيْرَهُ وَيُقَصِّرُ عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ؟ .

وَايْمُ اللَّهِ ! مَا أَحَدٌ أَوْصَلُ لِرَحِمِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَفَيَرْجُوهَا غَيْرَهُ وَيُقَصِّرُ عَنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ ؟ .

Shahr bin Hawshab narrated: Some preachers stood up and, during their sermons, spoke ill of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). Last of all, a man from the Ansar stood up whose name was Sayyiduna Unays (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: By Allah! I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection I will intercede for more people than there are trees and stones on the earth." (Then Sayyiduna Unays (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) By Allah! No one maintains the ties of kinship more than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So will other people have hope of intercession while the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do not receive that intercession?

وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - دَخَلَ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ، وَعَلِيٌّ نَائِمٌ ، وَهِيَ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ ، وَابْنَاهُمَا إِلَى جَنْبِهِمَا ، فَاسْتَسْقَى الْحَسَنُ ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَى لِقْحَةٍ لَهُمْ ، فَحَلَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَأَتَى بِهِ ، فَاسْتَيْقَظَ الْحُسَيْنُ ، فَجَعَلَ يُعَالِجُ أَنْ يَشْرَبَ قَبْلَهُ حَتَّى بَكَى ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ أَخَاكَ اسْتَسْقَى قَبْلَكَ " . فَقَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ : كَأَنَّ الْحَسَنَ آثَرُ عِنْدَكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مَا هُوَ بِآثَرَ عِنْدِي مِنْهُ ، وَإِنَّهُمَا عِنْدِي بِمَنْزِلَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ، وَإِنِّي وَإِيَّاكِ ، وَهَمَا ، وَهَذَا النَّائِمَ لَفِي مَكَانٍ وَاحِدٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was sleeping at that time, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was lying down, and her two sons were lying by her side. Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for something to drink, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to a milch animal of theirs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) milked it and brought (the milk). Meanwhile Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) also woke up and began insisting that he would drink it before Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), until he started crying. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your brother asked for it before you. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: It seems as though Hasan is preferred in your sight. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He is not preferred over him in my sight; these two are of the same rank in my sight. I, you, these two and this sleeping man (that is, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)) will be in one place on the Day of Resurrection.

وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ : أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، فَحَدَّثَتْهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ عِنْدَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا الْحَسَنُ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ ، وَفَاطِمَةُ ، فَجَعَلَ الْحَسَنَ مِنْ شِقٍّ وَالْحُسَيْنَ مِنْ شِقٍّ ، وَفَاطِمَةُ فِي حِجْرِهِ ، وَقَالَ : " رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ ، إِنَّهُ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ " . وَأَنَا وَأُمُّ سَلَمَةَ جَالِسَتَيْنِ ، فَبَكَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَقَالَ : " مَا يُبْكِيكِ ؟ " . فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، خَصَصْتَ هَؤُلَاءِ ، وَتَرَكْتَنِي أَنَا وَابْنَتِي . فَقَالَ : " أَنْتِ وَابْنَتُكِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ " .

Amr bin Shu'ayb narrated that he went to Sayyidah Zaynab bint Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and that lady told him: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at the house of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) when Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her). Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) was on one side, Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was on the other side, and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was in the middle. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May the blessings of Allah Almighty and His mercy be upon you, O People of the House! Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and the Possessor of glory." Sayyidah Zaynab bint Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) and I were sitting there. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) began to cry. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at her and asked: Why are you crying? She replied: O Messenger of Allah! You have singled out these people and left me and my daughter out. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You and your daughter are also among the Ahl al-Bayt.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، إِنِّي سَأَلْتُ اللَّهَ لَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا : أَنْ يُثَبِّتَ قَائِمَكُمْ ، وَيُعَلِّمَ جَاهِلَكُمْ ، وَيَهْدِيَ ضَالَّكُمْ ، وَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلَكُمْ نُجَدَاءَ نَجْدَاءَ رُحَمَاءَ ، فَلَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا صَفَنَ بَيْنَ الرُّكْنِ وَالْمَقَامِ ، وَصَلَّى وَصَامَ ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ وَهُوَ مُبْغِضٌ لِآلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - دَخَلَ النَّارَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَّابِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَذَكَرَهَ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي الثِّقَاتِ ، وَقَالَ : يُعْتَبَرُ حَدِيثُهُ إِذَا رَوَى عَنِ الثِّقَاتِ ، فَإِنَّ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ عَنِ الْمَجَاهِيلِ بَعْضَ الْمَنَاكِيرِ . قُلْتُ : رَوَى هَذَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْ شَيْخِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْغَلَّابِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَذَكَرَهَ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ فِي الثِّقَاتِ ، وَقَالَ : يُعْتَبَرُ حَدِيثُهُ إِذَا رَوَى عَنِ الثِّقَاتِ ، فَإِنَّ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ عَنِ الْمَجَاهِيلِ بَعْضَ الْمَنَاكِيرِ . قُلْتُ : رَوَى هَذَا عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O descendants of Abd al-Muttalib! I have asked Allah Almighty for three things for you: that He keep firm the one of you who is standing, grant knowledge to the one of you who is ignorant, and guide the one of you who has gone astray. And I have also prayed to Him that He make you brave and merciful. If a person stands between the Rukn and Maqam Ibrahim and offers prayer, and he fasts, and then he dies in a state in which he bears hatred towards the Ahl al-Bayt of Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), that person will go to Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his shaykh Muhammad bin Zakariyya al-Ghallabi, who is da'if (weak). Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Kitab al-Thiqat and said: His hadith is to be taken into consideration when he narrates from trustworthy narrators, for in his narrations from unknown (majhul) narrators there are some munkar (objectionable) reports. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: He narrated this from Sufyan al-Thawri, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. A long hadith was already mentioned earlier in this chapter, narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his shaykh Muhammad bin Zakariyya al-Ghallabi, who is da'if (weak). Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Kitab al-Thiqat and said: His hadith is to be taken into consideration when he narrates from trustworthy narrators, for in his narrations from unknown (majhul) narrators there are some munkar (objectionable) reports. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: He narrated this from Sufyan al-Thawri, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih. وَعَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " الْزَمُوا مَوَدَّتَنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ ; فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَهُوَ يَوَدُّنَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَتِنَا ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يَنْفَعُ عَبْدًا عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا بِمَعْرِفَةِ حَقِّنَا " .

Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Hold fast to love for us, the Ahl al-Bayt, for whoever comes before Allah Almighty in a state in which he loves us will enter Paradise through our intercession. By the One in whose Hand is my soul! A servant's deeds will not benefit him until he gains recognition of our right."

وَعَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، إِيَّاكَ وَبُغْضَنَا ; فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " لَا يُبْغِضُنَا وَلَا يَحْسُدُنَا أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ذِيدَ عَنِ الْحَوْضِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِسِيَاطٍ مِنْ نَارٍ " .

It is reported about Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: O Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj! Beware of bearing hatred towards us, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever bears hatred towards us or envies us will be driven away from the Pond on the Day of Resurrection with whips of fire."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Amr al-Waqifi, who is kadhdhab (a liar).

وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَسَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، مَنْ أَبْغَضَنَا - أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ - حَشَرَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَهُودِيًّا " . فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى ؟ قَالَ : " وَإِنْ صَامَ وَصَلَّى ، وَزَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مُسْلِمٌ ، احْتَجَرَ بِذَلِكَ مِنْ سَفْكِ دَمِهِ ، وَأَنْ يُؤَدِّيَ الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ . مُثِّلَ لِي أُمَّتِي فِي الطِّينِ ، فَمَرَّ بِي أَصْحَابُ الرَّايَاتِ فَاسْتَغْفَرْتُ لَعَلِيٍّ وَشِيعَتِهِ " .

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us, and I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "O people! Whoever bears hatred towards us, that is, the Ahl al-Bayt, Allah Almighty will raise him on the Day of Resurrection as a Jew." The narrator said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Even if that person fasts and prays? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if that person fasts and prays and thinks that he is a Muslim; by that he has only shielded himself from having his blood shed and from paying the jizyah with his own hand while humbled. My ummah was shown to me in their forms in clay, and the people of the banners passed by me, and I prayed for forgiveness for Ali and his followers."

وَعَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ ، أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ قُتِلَ عَلِيٌّ اسْتُخْلِفَ ، فَبَيْنَا هُوَ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ إِذْ وَثَبَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ ، فَطَعَنَهُ بِخِنْجَرٍ فِي وَرِكِهِ ، فَتَمَرَّضَ مِنْهَا أَشْهُرًا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَهْلَ الْعِرَاقِ ، اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ فِينَا ; فَإِنَّا أُمَرَاؤُكُمْ وَضِيفَانُكُمْ ، وَنَحْنُ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - : إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا . فَمَا زَالَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَكَلَّمُ حَتَّى مَا تَرَى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا بَاكِيًا .

Abu Jamilah narrated: When Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred and Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) was chosen as caliph, one day he was leading the people in prayer when a man attacked him and struck him in the side with a dagger, because of which he remained ill for several months. Then he stood up and, addressing the people from the pulpit, said: "O people of Iraq! Fear Allah Almighty regarding us, for we are your rulers and we are also your guests, and we are the Ahl al-Bayt about whom Allah Almighty has said: 'O People of the House! Allah Almighty intends to remove impurity from you and to purify you thoroughly.'" (The narrator said:) That day Sayyiduna Imam Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) kept on speaking until every person in the mosque was seen weeping.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : جَاءَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَعُودُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي مَرَضِهِ ، فَرَفَعَهُ فَأَجْلَسَهُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " رَفَعَكَ اللَّهُ يَا عَمِّ " . فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ : هَذَا عَلِيٌّ يَسْتَأْذِنُ ، فَقَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ " . فَدَخَلَ وَمَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ : هَؤُلَاءِ وَلَدُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " وَهُمْ وَلَدُكَ يَا عَمِّ " . قَالَ : أَتُحِبُّهُمَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَحَبَّكَ اللَّهُ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتُهُمَا " .

He lifted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and seated him on the bed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: O uncle! May Allah Almighty grant you elevation. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Ali is asking permission to come in. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Let him come in. So he came in, and Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) were with him. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! These are your children. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O uncle, they are your children too. He asked: Do you love the two of them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah Almighty love you just as I love the two of them.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ ، أَنَا أَمْ فَاطِمَةُ ؟ قَالَ : " فَاطِمَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْكَ ، وَأَنْتَ أَعَزُّ مِنْهَا ، وَكَأَنِّي بِكَ وَأَنْتَ عَلَى حَوْضِي تَذُودُ عَنْهُ النَّاسَ ، وَإِنَّ عَلَيْهِ الْأَبَارِيقَ مِثْلُ عَدَدِ نُجُومِ السَّمَاءِ ، وَإِنِّي وَأَنْتَ ، وَالْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ ، وَفَاطِمَةَ ، وَعَقِيلًا ، وَجَعْفَرًا ، فِي الْجَنَّةِ إِخْوَانًا عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ ، أَنْتَ مَعِي وَشِيعَتُكَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " . ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : ( إِخْوَانًا عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ ) لَا يَنْظُرُ أَحَدٌ فِي قَفَا صَاحِبِهِ " .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Who is dearer to you, I or Fatimah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fatimah is dearer to me than you, and you are more honoured in my sight than her. It is as though you will be at my Pond, driving people away from it, while on that Pond there will be jugs as numerous as the stars of the sky. I, you, Hasan, Husayn, Fatimah, Aqil and Ja'far will be in Paradise; we will be brothers, sitting on couches facing one another. In Paradise you will be with me, and your followers will be too. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "As brothers, on couches, facing one another." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one will look at the back of his companion's neck."

وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - دَعَا لِأَهْلِهِ ، فَذَكَرَ عَلِيًّا وَفَاطِمَةَ وَغَيْرَهُمَا ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، مَا لَمْ تَقُمْ عَلَى بَابِ سُدَّةٍ ، أَوْ تَأْتِ أَمِيرًا تَسْأَلُهُ " .

Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the freed slave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for his family; then the narrator mentioned Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and others. The narrator said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Am I also among the Ahl al-Bayt? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, as long as you do not stand at the door of a chief or go to a ruler and ask him for something.

I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection every tie (sabab) and lineage (nasab) will be cut off, except my tie and my lineage."

وَعَنْ أُمِّ بَكْرٍ بِنْتِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ خَطَبَ إِلَى الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ ابْنَتَهُ فَزَوَّجَهُ ، وَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " كُلُّ سَبَبٍ وَنَسَبٍ مُنْقَطِعٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا سَبَبِي وَنَسَبِي " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْعَبْدَسِيُّ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .

Sayyidah Umm Bakr bint al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) sent a marriage proposal to Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) for his daughter, and Sayyiduna al-Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) married her to him and said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "On the Day of Resurrection every tie and lineage will be cut off, except my tie and my lineage."

وَعَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَنَا وَعَلِيٌّ ، وَفَاطِمَةُ ، وَالْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي قُبَّةٍ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ " .

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn will be, on the Day of Resurrection, in a qubbah (that is, a tent) beneath the Throne."

وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " أَنَا وَعَلِيٌّ ، وَفَاطِمَةُ ، وَحَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ مُجْتَمِعُونَ ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ نَأْكُلُ وَنَشْرَبُ حَتَّى يُفَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ " .
فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَجُلًا مِنَ النَّاسِ ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ : كَيْفَ بِالْعَرْضِ وَالْحِسَابِ ؟ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : كَيْفَ كَانَ لِصَاحِبِ يَاسِينَ بِذَلِكَ حِينَ أُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ سَاعَتِهِ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn will be together, and whoever loves us; on the Day of Resurrection we will eat and drink until (the matter) between the servants is separated (that is, the reckoning)." A man among the people learned of this, so he asked him about it, and he informed him about it. That man said: "Then what about the presentation (before Allah) and the reckoning?" So I said to him: "What will be the case in this regard of the companion of Ya-Sin, when he was admitted to Paradise at that very moment?"

وَعَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ لَعَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - : " إِنَّ أَوَّلَ أَرْبَعَةٍ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ : أَنَا ، وَأَنْتَ ، وَالْحَسَنُ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ ، وَذَرَارِيُّنَا خَلْفَ ظُهُورِنَا ، وَأَزْوَاجُنَا خَلْفَ ذَرَارِيِّنَا ، وَشِيعَتُنَا عَنْ أَيْمَانِنَا وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِنَا " .

Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "The first four to enter Paradise are: I, you, Hasan and Husayn. Our offspring will be behind our backs, our wives will be behind our offspring, and our followers will be on our right and on our left."

وَعَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَكْوَعِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " النُّجُومُ جُعِلَتْ أَمَانًا لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ ، وَإِنَّ أَهْلَ بَيْتِي أَمَانٌ لِأُمَّتِي " .

Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The stars are a safety for the inhabitants of the heavens, and my household (Ahl al-Bayt) is a safety for my Ummah."

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ( سَلَامٌ عَلَى إِلْ يَاسِينَ ) قَالَ : نَحْنُ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مُوسَى بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: (Allah Almighty says:) "Peace be upon the family of Ya-Sin." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: (What is meant by it is that) we are the family of Muhammad.

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " خَيْرُكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ لِأَهْلِي مِنْ بَعْدِي " .
قَالَ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ : النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ : " لِأَهْلِهِ " . وَقَالَ هَذَا : " لِأَهْلِي " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
قَالَ أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ : النَّاسُ يَقُولُونَ : " لِأَهْلِهِ " . وَقَالَ هَذَا : " لِأَهْلِي " .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of you is the one who is best to my family after me." Abu Khaythamah said: People say: "who is best to his family", but here it is said: "who is best to my family".
