وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : جَاءَ الْعَبَّاسُ يَعُودُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فِي مَرَضِهِ ، فَرَفَعَهُ فَأَجْلَسَهُ عَلَى سَرِيرِهِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " رَفَعَكَ اللَّهُ يَا عَمِّ " . فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ : هَذَا عَلِيٌّ يَسْتَأْذِنُ ، فَقَالَ : " يَدْخُلُ " . فَدَخَلَ وَمَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ الْعَبَّاسُ : هَؤُلَاءِ وَلَدُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " وَهُمْ وَلَدُكَ يَا عَمِّ " . قَالَ : أَتُحِبُّهُمَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَحَبَّكَ اللَّهُ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتُهُمَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحَجَرِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) came to visit the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during his illness. He lifted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and seated him on the bed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: O uncle! May Allah Almighty grant you elevation. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Ali is asking permission to come in. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Let him come in. So he came in, and Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) were with him. Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! These are your children. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O uncle, they are your children too. He asked: Do you love the two of them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah Almighty love you just as I love the two of them.
