Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a slave woman, the mother of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). This lady had an upper room. A Coptic man used to come to this lady; he used to bring her water and firewood. People talked about this, saying that a man was visiting a woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed of this, so he called Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and ordered him to kill that man. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) went and found the man on a date palm. When the Copt saw the sword with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he fell down from above, the cloak on his body came off, and it turned out that the man had no private parts. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: What is your view: if you give one of us an order and that person then finds the situation to be different, should he refer back to you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes! So Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about what he had seen of the Copt's case. The narrator says: When the mother of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) gave birth to Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had some doubt about this, until Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came and said: Peace be upon you, O Abu Ibrahim! Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was reassured about this."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyidah Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the mother of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), who was his umm walad, and that lady was pregnant by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found with this lady one of her relatives who had come with her from Egypt. This man had accepted Islam, and his Islam was good. He used to come to Sayyidah Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the mother of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), and because she was the umm walad of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he made himself majbub (that is, he cut off his private parts). He cut off everything between his legs and left nothing for himself, little or much. One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him) and found that man with the lady. Some unease arose in his mind about this, as it arises in people's minds. He went back with his colour changed (that is, he was angry). He met Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and told Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about what was in his mind because of that man's presence with Umm Ibrahim. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) took his sword and came running until he reached Sayyidah Mariyah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he found that man with Sayyidah Mariyah (may Allah be pleased with her). He moved his sword towards him to kill him. When that man saw this situation, he removed the cloth from his private parts. When Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw this, he went back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Umar! Shall I not tell you? Jibril came to me and told me that Allah Almighty has declared this lady and her relative free of what had come into my mind, and he gave me the glad tidings that in this woman's womb is a son of mine who resembles me most of all creation in physical form. He commanded me to name him Ibrahim, and he gave me the kunyah Abu Ibrahim. Were it not that I dislike changing the kunyah by which I am known, I would have adopted the kunyah Abu Ibrahim, by which Jibril addressed me.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Hani' bin al-Mutawakkil, who is da'if (weak).

Al-Suddi narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lead the funeral prayer of his son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him)? He replied: I do not know. May Allah Almighty send down His mercy upon Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him); had he lived, he would have been a truthful prophet.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) relates about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said concerning his son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him): "There is a wet nurse for him in Paradise."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Jabir al-Ju'fi, who is da'if (weak); however, Shu'bah narrated it from him, and Shu'bah does not transmit a false narration from him. Through a hadith other than the one narrated from Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him),
this narration is authentically established.

It is reported about Sayyiduna Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was asked: Did you see Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: Yes! He passed away in early childhood, and he resembled the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more than anyone. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the Sahih, but without the mention of the resemblance.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Ubayd bin Junad al-Halabi, whose case is different, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

A woman named Sirin narrates: I was present with Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), near the time of his passing. I was crying out, my sister was also crying out and weeping, and the women were also crying out and weeping, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not forbid us. But when he passed away, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from crying out. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) carried him in his arms to the edge of the grave, with Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) at his side. Sayyiduna al-Fadl bin Abbas and Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them) went down into the grave. I sat by his grave and began to weep, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not forbid me. Meanwhile a solar eclipse occurred, and some people said: This has happened because of the death of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not eclipsed because of anyone's death or life." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a gap in the grave and ordered that it be closed. It was said: O Messenger of Allah! Will it benefit him? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will neither benefit him nor harm him, but it cools the eyes of the living." This son passed away on Tuesday, the 10th of Rabi' al-Awwal, in the year 10 AH.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains. One of the two chains contains a narrator, al-Waqidi, and the chain of the other contains a narrator, Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Zubalah, and both of them are matruk (abandoned).
