And after me the most generous of them is a man who acquires knowledge and spreads his knowledge; he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as a nation by himself. Then he left, wearing that shirt. A man from the Ansar said: O Messenger of Allah! Give me this shirt to wear; may Allah Almighty clothe you with a shirt of Paradise. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took off that shirt and gave it to him to wear. Then he went back to that shopkeeper and bought another shirt from him for four dirhams. Now he had two dirhams left. On the way a young girl was crying. He asked: Why are you crying? She said: O Messenger of Allah! My family gave me two dirhams so that I could buy flour with them, and they have been lost. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the remaining two dirhams. Then that girl turned back, crying. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called her and said: Why are you crying now, when you have taken the two dirhams? She said: I fear that my family will beat me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) walked with that girl to her family. He gave the greeting of salam, and the people recognised his voice. He gave the greeting again, then he gave the greeting again; when he gave the greeting the third time, those people replied. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Did you hear the first greeting? They replied: Yes! But we wished that you would greet us more. May our fathers and mothers be ransomed for you, what has brought you here? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This slave girl feared that you would beat her. The owner of that slave girl said: She is free for the sake of Allah, because you have walked here with her. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave those people the glad tidings of goodness and of Paradise, and said: May Allah Almighty bless these ten dirhams!
