عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنِ الْأَجْوَدِ الْأَجْوَدِ ؟ اللَّهُ الْأَجْوَدُ الْأَجْوَدُ ، وَأَنَا أَجْوَدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ ، وَأَجْوَدُهُمْ بَعْدِي رَجُلٌ عَلِمَ عِلْمًا فَنَشَرَ عِلْمَهُ ؛ يُبْعَثُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً ، وَرَجُلٌ جَادَ بِنَفْسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ " " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the most generous of all? Allah Almighty is the Most Generous of all, and I am the most generous of the children of Adam. And after me the most generous of them is a man who acquires knowledge and spreads his knowledge; he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection as a nation by himself. And a man who takes part with his life in the way of Allah (in battle) until he is martyred."
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration; its chain contains a narrator, Suwayd bin Abd al-Aziz, who is matruk (abandoned).
