وَعَنِ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذِ بْنِ عَفْرَاءَ قَالَتْ : بَعَثَنِي مُعَوِّذُ بْنُ عَفْرَاءَ بِقِنَاعٍ مِنْ رُطَبٍ عَلَيْهِ أُجَرُ مَنْ قِثَّاءِ زُغْبٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُحِبُّ الْقِثَّاءَ ، وَكَانَتْ حِلْيَةٌ قَدْ قَدِمَتْ مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ فَمَلَأَ يَدَهُ مِنْهَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا .
Sayyidah al-Rubayyi' bint Mu'awwidh bin Afra' (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'awwidh bin Afra' (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me with a tray of dates, along with which there were also cucumbers; he sent me with it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was fond of cucumbers. Ornaments had come to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from Bahrain, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) took a handful of them and gave them to me.
