Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to lick his fingers and then say: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You do not know in which part of your food the blessing lies."
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and the latter's wording is: "When one of you eats food, let him not wipe his hand until he licks it or has it licked, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'You do not know in which part of your food the blessing lies.'" The narrators of both of them are the narrators of the Sahih.
