عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ - وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ - أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَطْعَمْتَ وَسَقَيْتَ وَأَشْبَعْتَ وَأَرْوَيْتَ ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ غَيْرَ مَكْفُورٍ ، وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ ، وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْكَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
A man from Banu Sulaym who had the honour of being a Companion says: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished eating, he would recite: "O Allah! All praise belongs to You alone. You have fed, You have given drink, You have satisfied and You have quenched. So all praise belongs to You alone, a praise that is not left unacknowledged, nor bid farewell to, nor such that one can do without You."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains Abdullah bin Amir al-Aslami, and he is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ : تَعَشَّيْتُ مَعَ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ فَقَالَ : أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ مَا حَدَّثَنِي بِهِ أَبِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ؟ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ أَكَلَ فَشِبَعَ وَشَرِبَ فَرَوِيَ فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي وَأَشْبَعَنِي وَسَقَانِي وَأَرْوَانِي ، خَرَجَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ .
Hammad bin Abi Sulayman narrates: I had supper with Abu Burdah (the son of Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "Shall I not tell you the hadith that my father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) (that is, Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him), narrated to me?" He narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats and is satisfied, and drinks and is quenched, let him recite: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani wa ashba'ani wa saqani wa arwani' (All praise belongs to Allah, who fed me and satisfied me, and gave me drink and quenched me)." (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:) "Then that person comes out of his sins as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.

Hadith Takhrij «اخرجه أبو يعلى فى المسند (7246)»
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ قَالَ : " الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَفَانَا وَآوَانَا ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَنْعَمَ عَلَيْنَا وَأَفْضَلَ ، نَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَنْ تُجِيرَنَا مِنَ النَّارِ " .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ مِنْ رِوَايَةِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ . وَابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى سَيِّئُ الْحِفْظِ وَشَيْخُهُ لَمْ يُسَمَّ وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِيهِ .
Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) reports about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he finished eating, he would recite: "All praise belongs to Allah, who fed us and gave us drink. All praise belongs to Allah, who sufficed us and gave us shelter. All praise belongs to Allah, who bestowed favours upon us and was generous to us. We ask You, by Your mercy, to save us from the Fire."
Al-Bazzar recorded it as a narration of Muhammad bin Abi Layla from some of the people of Makkah. Ibn Abi Layla has a poor memory, his teacher is not named, and the narrator Abu Salamah did not hear from his father.

وَعَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عِنْدَ فَرَاغِهِ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَطْعَمْتَ وَسَقَيْتَ [ وَأَشْبَعْتَ ] وَأَرْوَيْتَ ، لَكَ الْحَمْدُ غَيْرَ مَكْفُورٍ ، وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ ، وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْكَ رَبَّنَا " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ عُمَرُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ وَجِيهٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna al-Harith bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite this on finishing his food: "O Allah! All praise belongs to You alone. You have fed and You have given drink, You have satisfied and You have quenched. Praise belongs to You alone, a praise that is not rejected, nor bid farewell to, and, O our Lord, without which there is no being free of need of You."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Umar bin Musa bin Wajih, and he is da'if (weak).

وَعَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ : إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ نُوحٌ عَبْدًا شَكُورًا لِأَنَّهُ إِذَا أَكَلَ وَشَرِبَ حَمِدَ اللَّهَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَتَابِعِيُّهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sa'd bin Mas'ud al-Thaqafi narrates: Sayyiduna Nuh (peace be upon him) was named a grateful servant because whenever he ate and drank, he praised Allah Almighty.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. It contains the Tabi'i Sa'd bin Sinan, and I do not know him. The remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Hadith Takhrij «اخرجه الطبراني فى المعجم الكبير (5420)»
وَعَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ : كَانَ سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - يَقُولُ إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ طَعَامِهِ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَفَانَا الْمُؤْنَةَ وَأَوْسَعَ لَنَا الرِّزْقَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ جِدًّا وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .
Al-Harith bin Suwayd narrates: When Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) finished eating, he would recite: "All praise belongs to Allah, who fulfilled our need and gave us abundant provision."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Yazid bin Ata', and he is very da'if (weak), although he has been declared trustworthy.
