Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 7946

Hammad bin Abi Sulayman narrates: I had supper with Abu Burdah (the son of Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "Shall I not tell you the hadith that my father, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) (that is, Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him), narrated to me?" He narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever eats and is satisfied, and drinks and is quenched, let him recite: 'Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani wa ashba'ani wa saqani wa arwani' (All praise belongs to Allah, who fed me and satisfied me, and gave me drink and quenched me)." (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:) "Then that person comes out of his sins as he was on the day his mother gave birth to him."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.
