عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ قَالَ : بَعَثَنِي أَبِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَدْعُوهُ إِلَى طَعَامٍ ، فَجَاءَ مَعِي فَلَمَّا دَنَوْتُ مِنَ الْمَنْزِلِ أَسْرَعْتُ فَأَعْلَمْتُ أَبَوَيَّ فَخَرَجَا ، فَتَلَقَّيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَرَحَّبَا وَوَضَعَا لَهُ قَطِيفَةً كَانَتْ عِنْدَنَا زِئْبَرِيَّةً فَقَعَدَ عَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبِي لِأُمِّي : هَاتِ طَعَامَكِ ، فَجَاءَتْ بِقَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا دَقِيقٌ قَدْ عَصَدَتْهُ بِمَاءٍ وَمِلْحٍ فَوَضَعَتْهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : " خُذُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ مِنْ جَوَانِبِهَا وَذَرُوا ذُرْوَتَهَا فَإِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ فِيهَا " .
فَأَكْلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ ، وَفَضَلَ مِنْهَا فَضْلَةٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَوَسِّعْ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي أَرْزَاقِهِمْ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
فَأَكْلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَأَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ ، وَفَضَلَ مِنْهَا فَضْلَةٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَوَسِّعْ عَلَيْهِمْ فِي أَرْزَاقِهِمْ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: My father sent me to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to invite him to a meal. He came with me, and when I drew near the house, I hurried ahead and informed my parents. Both of them came out, met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and welcomed him. They spread out for him a sheet that we had, which was thick-piled, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sat on it. Then my father said to my mother: "Bring your food." So she brought a bowl containing flour which she had prepared with water and salt, and she placed it before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take from its sides with the name of Allah, and leave its top (the middle), for the blessing is in it." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate, and we ate with him, and some of the food was left over. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: "O Allah! Forgive them, have mercy on them, send down blessing upon them, and make their provision abundant for them." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:

وَعَنْ سَلْمَى قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُؤْخَذَ مِنْ رَأْسِ الطَّعَامِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked that food be taken from the top part of the food (i.e. the raised part in the middle).
