Sayyiduna Amr bin Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whatever a man gives to his wife is charity."
Ahmad recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Abi Humayd, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna al-Irbad bin Sariyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a man gives his wife water to drink, he will be rewarded for it." The narrator says: I went to my wife, gave her water to drink, and narrated to her the hadith that I had heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Sufyan bin Husayn; there is weakness in his narrations from al-Zuhri, and this report is one of them.

Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever you feed yourself is charity for you; whatever you feed your children is charity for you; whatever you feed your wife is charity for you; and whatever you feed your servant is charity for you."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Other hadith of this kind, with various chains, will come later in the chapter on marriage, if Allah wills.

O servants of Allah, help him! O servants of Allah, give to him! O servants of Allah, lend to him!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Umar bin Habib al-Adawi, who is matruk (abandoned).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Begin with your mother, then your father, your sister, your brother, and then your nearest relatives in order of closeness; and do not forget the neighbours and those in need.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Ahmad al-Arzami, who is da'if (weak).

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, and your nearest relatives in order of closeness (spend the surplus on them).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator whom I do not know.

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever spends on himself so that by it he may keep himself from (begging from people), that is charity; and whoever spends on his wife, his children and his household, that is charity."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. He recorded it with two chains, one of which is hasan (good).
