بَابٌ فِي نَفَقَةِ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ وَأَهْلِهِ وَغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ .

وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَا أَنْفَقَ الْمَرْءُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ، وَوَلَدِهِ ، وَأَهْلِهِ ، وَذِي رَحِمِهِ ، وَقَرَابَتِهِ فَهُوَ لَهُ صَدَقَةٌ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ مِسْوَرُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ ، وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever a person spends on himself, on his children, on his household, on his relatives and on his close kin is charity."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, Miswar bin al-Salt, who is matruk (abandoned).
