Hadith Beginning with the Letter Lam (ل)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I had resolved not to accept a gift from anyone except a man of Quraysh, an Ansari, a man of Thaqif or a man of Daws."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The heart of the son of Adam turns over more rapidly than a cooking pot that is boiling vigorously."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Prompt your dying to say 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no true god except Allah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Prompt your dying to say 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no true god except Allah), for the soul of the believer departs easily, like sweat, while the soul of the disbeliever departs from the side of his jaw, just as the soul of a donkey departs."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Prompt your dying to say 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no true god except Allah), for whoever's last words at the time of death are 'La ilaha illallah' will certainly enter Paradise one day or another, whatever may have befallen him before that."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a man to stand in the ranks in the path of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, for one hour is better than sixty years of worship."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On the night I was taken on the Night Journey (Mi'raj), I met Ibrahim, and he said: 'O Muhammad, convey my greetings of peace to your Ummah, and tell them that Paradise has pure soil and sweet water, that it consists of level plains, and that its plants are 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah), 'Wal-hamdu lillah' (and praise be to Allah), 'Wa la ilaha illallah' (and there is no true god except Allah) and 'Wallahu akbar' (and Allah is the Greatest).'"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A portion of Paradise the size of the space taken by the whip of one of you is better than everything between the heavens and the earth."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In return for it you will have seven hundred she-camels with nose-reins in Paradise."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In return for it you will have, on the Day of Resurrection, seven hundred she-camels, all of them with nose-reins."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There is a reward for you in (helping) every thirsty living creature that has a moist liver."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O Yazid, you have what you intended; and O Ma'n, you have what you took."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For you, the people of the ship, there are two emigrations (hijrahs)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For you is every bone over which the name of Allah has been mentioned; it will come into your hands as full of meat as it can be, and every piece of dung is fodder for your animals. So do not clean yourselves after relieving yourselves (istinja) with these two, for they are the food of your brothers."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"But for you the best and most beautiful jihad is an accepted Hajj (Hajj mabrur)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every son of Adam has had his share of zina written for him. The zina of the eye is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, the two ears commit zina and their zina is listening, the two hands commit zina and their zina is grasping, the two feet commit zina and their zina is walking, and the mouth commits zina and its zina is kissing."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every Ummah has a trustworthy one, and the trustworthy one of my Ummah is Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every Ummah has its Magians (deniers of predestination), and the Magians of my Ummah are those who say there is no predestination (qadar). If they fall ill, do not visit them, and if they die, do not attend their funerals."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every disease there is a remedy, so when the right remedy for the disease is found, recovery comes by the permission of Allah Almighty."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every surah has its share of bowing (ruku') and prostration (sujud)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every mistake (sahw) there are two prostrations after giving the salam."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every betrayer, a banner will be set up behind him on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every betrayer there will be a banner on the Day of Resurrection by which he will be recognised."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every betrayer a banner will be set up in proportion to his betrayal."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For every betrayer, a banner will be raised on the Day of Resurrection in proportion to his betrayal. Listen! There is no betrayer greater in betrayal than a ruler over the common people."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every generation has some who excel and lead the way."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In every generation of my Ummah there are some who excel and lead the way."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet has a legacy and an estate that he leaves behind, and my legacy and my estate are the Ansar, so look after them for my sake."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet had a supplication which he made for his Ummah and it was answered for him, and I wish, if Allah wills (in sha' Allah), to save my supplication as intercession for my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet has a supplication which he made for his Ummah, and I have kept my supplication hidden away as intercession for my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet has a supplication that is answered, and every prophet hastened to make his supplication, but I have kept my supplication hidden away as intercession for my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection. So it will reach, if Allah wills (in sha' Allah), every person of my Ummah who dies without associating anything with Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet has a supplication which he makes, and I wish to keep my supplication hidden away as intercession for my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Every prophet has an answered supplication which he makes, and it is answered for him and granted to him, and I have kept my supplication hidden away as intercession for my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The daughter gets half, the son's daughter gets a sixth, and whatever remains goes to the sister."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For a virgin (bride) there are seven days, and for a previously married woman there are three days."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There is a door of repentance in the direction of the west, the width of which is a journey of seventy years. It will remain open like this until one of the signs of your Lord comes, namely the rising of the sun from the west."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The martyr has seven qualities with Allah: he is forgiven with the very first drop of his blood; he is shown his place in Paradise; he is clothed in the garment of faith; he is married to seventy-two wives from among the Hur al-Ayn (wide-eyed maidens of Paradise); he is protected from the punishment of the grave; he is kept safe from the Greatest Terror; a crown of dignity is placed on his head, a single ruby of which is better than the world and everything in it; and he is granted intercession for seventy people of his household."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The fasting person has two joys: one joy when he breaks his fast, and another joy when he meets his Lord."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For those who fast there is a gate in Paradise called 'al-Rayyan'. No one other than them will enter through it. When the last of them has entered, it will be closed. Whoever enters through it will drink, and whoever drinks will never feel thirst again."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"For the righteous slave there is a double reward."
