Hadith Beginning with the Letter Sin (س)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In the last times there will be the swallowing up by the earth, a rain of stones and the transformation of forms, when musical instruments and singing girls become widespread and wine is regarded as lawful."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In the last times there will be police officers (government agents) who will go out in the morning in the wrath of Allah and return in the evening in the displeasure of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"In the last times there will be people from my Ummah who will tell you things that neither you nor your forefathers have heard. So beware of them."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There will be disagreement and division in my Ummah. There will be people who speak fine words but do evil deeds. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their collarbones. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the game. They will not return (to the religion) until the arrow returns to its notch. They will be the worst of all creation. Glad tidings for the one who kills them and the one whom they kill. They will call to the Book of Allah, yet they will have nothing to do with it. Whoever fights them will be closer to Allah than they are. Their sign will be the shaving of the head."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There will be people in my Ummah who will deny divine decree (al-qadar)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon there will be people who will eat by means of their tongues (through flattery), just as a cow grazes from the earth."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Soon there will be people who will transgress the limits in supplication."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"After me, your affairs will be taken over by men who will present to you as good the things you consider evil, and present as evil the things you consider good. So whoever among you lives to see that, there is no obedience to the one who disobeys Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Muslims will light fires with the bows, arrows and shields of Gog and Magog (Ya'juj and Ma'juj) for seven years."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best form of seeking forgiveness is that you say: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no true god except You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as far as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessing upon me, and I also acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You. Whoever says it during the day with full conviction and dies on that day before the evening, he is among the people of Paradise; and whoever says it at night with full conviction and dies before the morning, he is among the people of Paradise."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The leader of the martyrs is Hamzah bin Abdul-Muttalib, and a man who stands before an unjust ruler and commands him to do good and forbids him from evil, and he (the ruler) kills him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The leader of the martyrs with Allah on the Day of Resurrection is Hamzah bin Abdul-Muttalib."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of the fragrant plants of the people of Paradise is henna."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The leading women of the people of Paradise are four: Maryam, Fatimah, Khadijah and Asiyah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The grazing animal (the compensation for damage it causes) is waived, the well (if harm occurs by falling into it, that) is waived, the mine (if an accident occurs in it, that) is waived, and on buried treasure there is one-fifth (as zakah)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The one who strives on behalf of the widow and the needy is like the one who wages jihad in the path of Allah, or like the one who stands in prayer at night and fasts by day."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Seven Oft-Repeated (al-Sab' al-Mathani) is Surah al-Fatihah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The prostration in Surah Sad was performed by Dawud (peace be upon him) as repentance, and we perform it in gratitude."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Eating the pre-dawn meal (suhur) is a blessing, so do not abandon it, even if one of you only takes a single sip of water, for Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who eat the pre-dawn meal."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Whoever cannot find a waist-wrapper (izar) may wear trousers, and whoever cannot find sandals may wear leather socks (khuffs)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The fortunate one is he whose good fortune was written while he was still in his mother's womb, and the wretched one is he whose wretchedness was written while he was still in his mother's womb."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Travel is a piece of torment; it keeps one of you from his food, his drink and his sleep. So when one of you has fulfilled his need, let him hasten back to his family."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The lower part is easier (more convenient)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Proceed calmly, O servants of Allah! Proceed calmly."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Tranquillity and calm are found among the owners of sheep and goats."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Credit (dealing) until the birth of the unborn young in the she-camel's womb is usury (riba)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Tuberculosis (dying of consumption) is martyrdom."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A good demeanour, deliberateness and moderation are one part of the twenty-four parts of prophethood."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Listening and obeying is obligatory upon the Muslim man, whether he likes it or dislikes it, as long as he is not commanded to commit disobedience. If he is commanded to commit disobedience, then there is no listening and no obedience."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The cat is one of the household, and it is among those (pure) animals that go about around you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The miswak is a means of purification for the mouth and of the pleasure of the Lord."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The miswak makes the mouth fragrant and pleases the Lord."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"As-Salam is one of the names of Allah which Allah has placed on earth, so spread it among yourselves. For when a Muslim man passes by a people and greets them with salam, and they return his greeting, he gains a degree of superiority over them because he reminded them of the salam. And if they do not return his greeting, one who is better and purer than them (an angel) returns it to him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Peace be upon you, O abode of believing people! And we, if Allah wills, will be joining you. I wish that we had seen our brothers." The Companions asked: "Are we not your brothers?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather you are my companions. Our brothers are those who have not yet come." The Companions asked: "How will you recognise those of your Ummah who have not yet come?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you think, if a man had horses with white blazes on their foreheads and white legs among a herd of pure black horses, would he not recognise his horses?" The Companions said: "Of course!" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then they (my Ummah) will come on the Day of Resurrection with faces, hands and feet shining from the traces of ablution, and I will have gone ahead of them to the Pond. Beware! Some men will be driven away from my Pond just as a stray camel is driven away. I will call out to them: 'Come here! Come here!' Then it will be said: 'They changed (the religion) after you.' So I will say: 'Away with them, away with them, away with them!'"

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The greeting of salam comes before speaking. So whoever starts talking to you before greeting you with salam, do not answer him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The Sayyid (the true Master) is Allah."
