«سيكون في أمتي اختلاف وفرقة قوم يحسنون القيل ويسيئون الفعل يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز تراقيهم يمرقون من الدين مروق السهم من الرمية لا يرجعون حتى يرتد على فوقه هم شرار الخلق والخليقة طوبى لمن قتلهم وقتلوه يدعون إلى كتاب الله وليسوا منه في شيء من قاتلهم كان أولى بالله منهم سيماهم التحليق»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There will be disagreement and division in my Ummah. There will be people who speak fine words but do evil deeds. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their collarbones. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the game. They will not return (to the religion) until the arrow returns to its notch. They will be the worst of all creation. Glad tidings for the one who kills them and the one whom they kill. They will call to the Book of Allah, yet they will have nothing to do with it. Whoever fights them will be closer to Allah than they are. Their sign will be the shaving of the head."
