It is narrated from Abu Al-Khair (may Allah be pleased with him) that the sister of Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) had vowed to perform Hajj on foot. Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Instruct her to go riding.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when two riders appeared. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw them and said, "They belong to the tribe of Kinda, from the clan of Madhhij." When they came near, indeed they were both from Madhhij. One of them advanced to pledge allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), took the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his own hands and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell me, the person who has seen you, believed in you, affirmed you, and followed you, what will he receive?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Glad tidings for him." He passed his hand over the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and went back. Then the second one advanced, took the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to pledge allegiance, and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell me, if someone believes in you, affirms you, and follows you, but is unable to see you, what will he receive?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said three times, "Glad tidings for him." He passed his hand over the blessed hand of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and went back.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "O Ibn Abas! He said, "They are two surahs: Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas."
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam! Perform four rak'ahs for Me in the first part of the day, I will suffice you with their blessing until the end of the day.

I said, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah!" (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Naas. Then the prayer was established, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went forward and recited these two surahs in the Fajr prayer. Then, as he passed by me, he said, "O Uqbah! It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that we used to do our own work and would take turns herding the camels. One day, when it was my turn and I took them out at noon, I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) standing before the people and addressing them. What I heard at that moment was this: Whoever among you performs ablution and does it well, then stands and offers two rak‘ahs in which he turns his heart and face attentively towards Allah, Paradise becomes obligatory for him and all his sins are forgiven. I said, "How excellent this is!" Upon this, the man in front of me said, "Uqbah! The statement before this was even better." I looked and saw that it was Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him). I asked, "O Abu Hafs! What was that statement?" He replied, "Before you came, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever among you performs ablution and does it well, then says: 'Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu wa anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu' (I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and Muhammad is His servant and Messenger), the eight gates of Paradise will be opened for him, and he may enter through whichever gate he wishes."
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting in the mosque reciting the Holy Qur'an when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us and greeted us with salam. We replied to him, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Acquire the knowledge of the Book of Allah, hold firmly to it, and recite it with melody.
