Musnad Ahmad 17405 — Hadith of Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّ مِشْرَحَ بْنَ هَاعَانَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَوْ كَانَ مِنْ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ ، لَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: If there were to be a prophet after me, it would have been Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).
