Shahr bin Hawshab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an expedition to the outskirts of Mudar. They related that they camped in a rocky land, and in the morning they saw a man in front of his tent who had goats. They came to him, stood before him and said: "Give us something to eat." So he gave them a goat, and they cooked some of it. Then he brought out (the rest) to them, and they disliked it. Then he said: "There is no goat fit for meat left among my goats except a pregnant one or a stud (male goat)." They insisted and took a goat from him. Then, when they began to be scorched by the intense heat, and it was a summer day and they had no shade with them, they said: "His goats are in the shade of his tent." And they said: "We have more right to the shade than these goats." So they came to him and said: "Move your goats away from us so that we may take shade." He said: "Whenever you take them out they will perish and miscarry their young, and I am a man who has believed in Allah and His Messenger, and I have prayed and paid zakah." But they took his goats out, and not even an hour of the day had passed before they began to writhe and miscarried their young. So he set out quickly until he reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him (peace and blessings be upon him) the whole matter. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) became extremely angry, then said: "Sit until those people return." When they returned, he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought them and him (the Bedouin) together, and all of them said, one after another: "It is a lie, it is a lie." Then the anger of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) subsided. When the Bedouin saw this, he said: "By Allah! Allah knows that I am truthful and these people are liars, and perhaps Allah will inform you, O Messenger of Allah." Then it occurred to the heart of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was truthful, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) called them one by one and made each of them swear, and every one of them said what the Bedouin had said. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and said: "What drives you to rush into lying one after another as moths rush one after another into the fire? Every lie is recorded against the son of Adam except in three traits: a man who lies to his wife so that she will be pleased with him, a man who lies in the deception of war, and a man who lies between two Muslims to reconcile them."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every lie is recorded against the son of Adam except in three cases: a man who lies to bring about reconciliation between people, or lies to his wife, or lies in the deception of war."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid al-Ansariyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and addressed the people, saying: "O people! What drives you to rush into lying one after another" - Zuhayr (the narrator) said: I think he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: - "as moths rush one after another into the fire? Every lie is recorded against the son of Adam except in three traits: a man who lies to his wife to please her, or a man who lies between two Muslims to reconcile them, or a man who lies in the deception of war."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Shall I not tell you about the best of you?" The people said: "Certainly." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who, when they are seen, Allah is remembered. Shall I not tell you about the worst of you?" The people said: "Certainly." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst of you are those who go about spreading tale-bearing, who sow discord between loved ones, and who seek hardship and faults for the innocent."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to the women at one side of the mosque, and I was with them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) heard their voices and said: "O assembly of women! You are most of the fuel of Hell." So I called out to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was bold in speaking to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Why?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because when you are given, you do not give thanks; and when you are tested, you are not patient; and when something is withheld from you, you complain. And beware of ingratitude for blessings." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is ingratitude for blessings?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A woman is with her husband and has borne him two or three children, yet she says: 'I have never seen any good from you.'"

Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever drinks wine, Allah is not pleased with him for forty days. If he dies in that state, he dies a disbeliever; and if he repents, Allah will accept his repentance; and if he goes back to it, it is binding upon Allah to make him drink from Tinat al-Khabal." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is Tinat al-Khabal?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The pus from the wounds of the people of Hell."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while he was among his Companions, say: "I warn you of the Masih (the Dajjal) and caution you against him. Every prophet warned his people of him, and he is (to appear) among you, O nation. I will describe to you of his features what the prophets before me did not describe to their peoples: before his emergence there will be five years of drought, until every animal with hooves perishes." A man called out to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Then by what will the believers live?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By that which the angels live by. Then he will come out, and he will be one-eyed, while Allah is not one-eyed. Between his two eyes 'Kafir' (disbeliever) will be written, which every believer will read, whether he can write or cannot write. Most of those who follow him will be the Jews, women and Bedouins. They will see the sky raining while it is not raining, and the earth producing vegetation while it is not producing. He will say to the Bedouins: 'What do you want from me? Did I not send down upon you abundant rain from the sky? And I bring your livestock back to life for you, with high humps, full flanks and udders brimming with milk?' And devils will be sent with him in the forms of the fathers, brothers and acquaintances who have died. One of them will come to his father or brother or a relative and say: 'Are you not so-and-so? Do you not recognise me? This is your Lord, so follow him.' He will remain for forty years: the first year like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour like a palm branch burning in the fire. He will come to every watering place except the two mosques (of Makkah and Madinah)." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to perform ablution, and he heard the weeping and sobbing of the people, so he returned to them, stood among them and said: "Receive glad tidings! If he (the Dajjal) comes out while I am among you, then Allah and His Messenger are sufficient for you; and if he comes out after me, then Allah is my successor over every Muslim."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: My maternal aunt and I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while both of us had gold bracelets on our hands. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you pay its zakah?" We said: "No." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Would you like Allah to put two bracelets of fire on you? Pay its zakah."

Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), died, the eyes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) filled with tears. It was said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): "You are the most deserving of anyone to recognise the right of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The eye sheds tears and the heart grieves, but we do not say what angers the Lord. Were it not that this is a true promise and a meeting place where all are gathered, and that the one who comes later follows the one who went before, we would have grieved even more than this. And O Ibrahim, we are indeed grieved for you."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that when Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the son of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), passed away, the one offering condolences - who was either Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) or Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) - said: "You are the most knowledgeable of those who recognise the right of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The eye sheds tears and the heart grieves, but we do not say what angers the Lord. Were it not that this is a true promise and a meeting place where all are gathered, and that the later one follows the earlier one, then, O Ibrahim, we would have grieved for you even more than we have. And O Ibrahim, we are indeed grieved for you."
