Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was among the women from whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge of allegiance. She said: And I was a young, full-bosomed girl, bold in asking him (peace and blessings be upon him) questions. I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Extend your hand so that I may shake hands with you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not shake hands with women; rather I take from them the pledge that Allah has taken from them." She said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a maternal aunt of mine who had two gold bracelets on her hand, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) picked something up from the ground and threw it at her, and said: "Would it please you that Allah should make for you two bracelets of the fire of Hell?" She said: "I seek refuge with Allah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you have sought refuge with Allah, then throw these off." So I worked at it with her and helped her with that, and she threw them away, and to this day I do not know who took them.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that she was with some women when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) greeted them with salam, then said: "Beware of ingratitude for blessings." She said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is ingratitude for blessings?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps the period of one of you remaining a widow, or remaining unmarried at her parents' home, becomes long; then perhaps Allah grants her a husband and then grants her children from him; then she (the woman) becomes very angry over something and, being ungrateful, says: 'By Allah! I have never seen any good from you.'"
