Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every person will enter Paradise only because of the mercy of Allah Almighty." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you (will enter without the mercy of Allah Almighty)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this while pointing with his blessed hand above his head.
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "No one among you will be saved by his deeds." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy. So keep to what is right and stay close (to it); (offer prayer) in the morning, in the evening and in part of the night, and keep to moderation, keep to moderation; you will reach (your goal)." (Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the Sahih in abridged form.
Imam Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Hadith Takhrij«اخرجه احمد فى المسند (262/2) ، أخرجه صحيح مسلم برقم: 2816، وأخرجه مسند أحمد برقم: 8324»
It is narrated from the same Companion that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one will be saved by his deeds." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His special mercy and grace. If He were to hold me and Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him) accountable for what these two (fingers) have committed, He would destroy us." The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (said this) while pointing with the index finger and the middle finger. (Allamah Haythami says:) I say:
This narration is mentioned in the Sahih, but without the words: "If He were to hold me accountable."
Imam al-Bazzar and Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it, but he recorded these words: "If He were to hold me accountable for what these have committed, He would destroy me." I do not know Imam al-Bazzar's teacher Abu Bakr; perhaps he is the scribe (warraq) of Ibn Abi al-Dunya, since he narrated from Muhammad bin Abd al-Malik bin Zanjawayh. Likewise, I have not found anyone who wrote a biography of Imam al-Tabarani's teacher Ibrahim bin Mu'awiyah bin Dhakwan bin Abi Sufyan al-Qaysarani. The rest of the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except Muhammad bin Abd al-Malik bin Zanjawayh, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "No one among you will be saved by his deeds." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded it, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; however, in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir he recorded these words: "The deeds of no one among you will admit him into Paradise." One of those present asked: "Not even you?" After that the narrator mentioned the whole hadith. The chains of these narrations contain Ash'ath bin Sawwar, who has been declared trustworthy despite his weakness; the rest of the narrators of these narrations are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Sharik bin Tariq (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you will enter Paradise because of deeds." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy and grace."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it with various chains, the narrators of one of which are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "On the Day of Resurrection three registers will be brought out for the son of Adam: one register containing righteous deeds, one register containing his sins, and one register mentioning the blessings of Allah Almighty upon him. Allah Almighty will say to His smallest blessing (the narrator says: I think the narration also has these words:) in the register of blessings (He will say to the smallest blessing in it): 'Take your price from his righteous deeds!' That blessing will take all of that person's righteous deeds; then it will step back and say: 'By Your might! I have not received my full due.' Then that person's sins and blessings will remain, since his righteous deeds will all have gone. When Allah Almighty intends to have mercy on a servant, He will say: 'O My servant! Allah Almighty has multiplied your good deeds and He has overlooked your sins (the narrator says: I think the narration also has these words:) and I have granted you My blessings as a gift.'"

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: A man from Abyssinia came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! You have been given superiority over us in colour and prophethood. What is your view: if I believe just as you have believed and act just as you act, will I be with you in Paradise?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever says 'La ilaha illallah (there is no god but Allah)' will have a covenant with Allah Almighty because of it, and whoever says 'Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah)', Allah Almighty will record one hundred good deeds for him." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! How can we be destroyed after this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By the One in whose Hand is my soul, on the Day of Resurrection a man will come with such deeds that if they were placed on a mountain, they would weigh it down. Then one of the blessings of Allah Almighty will stand up and almost wipe out all of those deeds, had Allah Almighty not shown him the grace of His mercy." Then this verse was revealed: "Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning?" up to: "And when you look there, you will see bliss and a great kingdom." That Abyssinian said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will my eyes in Paradise also see just as your eyes will see?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" That Abyssinian began to weep until he passed away. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lowering him into his grave himself.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ayyub bin Utbah, who is da'if (weak), and he has been weakly declared trustworthy.

Allah Almighty will say: 'Which of the two is more beloved to you: that I reward you according to your deeds, or (that I take account) for the blessing of Mine you received?' That servant will say: 'O my Lord! You know that I never disobeyed You.' The Lord will say: 'Seize My servant for one of My blessings!' That blessing will take every one of his good deeds. That servant will say: 'O my Lord! (Forgive me) by Your blessing and Your mercy!' The Lord will say: '(You are saved) by My blessing and My mercy.'" (Allamah Haythami says:) I say: After this he mentioned the whole hadith, which has already passed in the chapter on the reckoning.
