بَابٌ : لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُنْجِيهِ عَمَلُهُ .

وَعَنْ أَسَدِ بْنِ كُرْزٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا أَسَدُ بْنَ كُرْزٍ ، لَا تَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلٍ ، وَلَكِنْ بِرَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ " . قَالَ : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ! قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَلَاقَنِي اللَّهُ - أَوْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي - اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَهُوَ مُدَلِّسٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Asad bin Kurz (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Asad bin Kurz! You will not enter Paradise because of deeds, but because of the mercy of Allah Almighty (you will enter Paradise)." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy." (Here the narrator is unsure about one word.)
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Baqiyyah bin al-Walid, who is a mudallis; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
