بَابٌ : لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يُنْجِيهِ عَمَلُهُ .
No one's deeds will save him

وَعَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ بِعَمَلِهِ " . قُلْنَا : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ؟ ! قَالَ : وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ " . وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Usamah bin Sharik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "No one will enter Paradise because of his deeds." We said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Not even I, except that Allah Almighty has covered me with His mercy." (While saying this) the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on his blessed head.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains al-Mufaddal bin Salih al-Asadi, who is da'if (weak).
