I first waited a little, then I set out after him. I found that he had entered a garden in al-Aswaf. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution (wudu), then offered two rak'ahs; during this he went into prostration and prolonged the prostration. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ended the prayer with salam, I came before him and said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! You made such a prostration that I feared Allah Almighty might have taken your soul, because your prostration was very long. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril gave me the glad tidings that whoever sends blessings upon me, Allah Almighty will send mercy upon him, and whoever sends salam upon me, Allah Almighty will send peace upon him."

There he offered the prayer, and there he prostrated and prolonged the prostration, and I thought that perhaps Allah Almighty had taken his soul. The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head, called me and said: What is the matter with you? I said: O Messenger of Allah! You made a long prostration, and I thought that perhaps Allah Almighty had taken the soul of His Messenger and that I would never see you again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I prostrated to thank my Lord for what He has granted me concerning my Ummah: whoever of my Ummah sends blessings upon me once, ten good deeds will be recorded for him and ten of his sins will be erased." He told me: O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)!
