Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17296

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sends salam upon me, Allah Almighty returns my soul to me so that I may return his salam."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Abdullah bin Yazid al-Iskandarani, whom I do not know, and Mahdi bin Ja'far, who is thiqah (trustworthy) though there is disagreement about him; the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
