Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Shall I devote half of my voluntary worship to supplicating for you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever you wish. He asked: Shall I devote a third of it to supplicating for you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Very well. He said: Shall I devote all of my voluntary worship to supplicating for you? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In that case, He will suffice you for your worries of this world and the Hereafter."
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Umar bin Muhammad bin Suhban, who is matruk (abandoned).
