Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17285

In a narration he reports, transmitted from this same Companion, the wording is: "Five or four of us Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) would not part from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (that is, that many people were with him at all times), so that whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had some need, by day or by night, they could be of service. The narrator says: When I came to him, he had gone out. I followed him, and he entered a garden at the place called al-Aswaf. There he offered the prayer, and there he prostrated and prolonged the prostration, and I thought that perhaps Allah Almighty had taken his soul. The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head, called me and said: What is the matter with you? I said: O Messenger of Allah! You made a long prostration, and I thought that perhaps Allah Almighty had taken the soul of His Messenger and that I would never see you again. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I prostrated to thank my Lord for what He has granted me concerning my Ummah: whoever of my Ummah sends blessings upon me once, ten good deeds will be recorded for him and ten of his sins will be erased." Abu Ya'la recorded both of these narrations; the chain of the first contains narrators whom I do not know, and the chain of the second contains Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, who is da'if (weak). Before this, in the chapter on the prostration of gratitude, the narration recorded by Ahmad has already passed.
