Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I heard the Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him), say: "Indeed Allah Almighty said: 'O Isa! After you I will send a nation who, if what they love befalls them, will praise and give thanks, and if what they dislike befalls them, will hope for reward and be patient, even though they will have no forbearance and no knowledge.' Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him) said: 'O my Lord! How will this be granted to them when they have neither forbearance nor knowledge?' Allah Almighty said: 'I will give them from My forbearance and My knowledge.'"
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except al-Hasan bin Sawwar and Abu Halbas Yazid bin Maysarah, and both of them are also thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not come out to us for a long time, until, when we thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would not come out now, he (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and he (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrated, until we thought that perhaps his soul had been taken in that prostration. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"My Lord consulted me about my Ummah: what should I do with them? I submitted: O my Lord, do whatever You will; they are Your creation and Your servants. The Lord consulted me a second time, and I submitted the same thing. The Lord said: O Muhammad, We will not grieve you concerning your Ummah."
(The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) "The Lord informed me: The first of my Ummah to enter Paradise will be seventy thousand people, and with every thousand of them there will be another seventy thousand, and no reckoning will be taken from them."
Then He (the Lord) sent a message to me and said:
"Supplicate, and it will be answered; ask, and you will be given. So I said to His messenger: Will my Lord give me whatever I ask? The messenger said: He has sent me to you only so that He may give you that (that is, whatever you ask). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not say this as a boast: my Lord has granted me this: that He has forgiven my past and future sins, and now I walk about alive and sound; He granted me that my Ummah will not suffer famine and will not be overcome; and He granted me al-Kawthar, which is a river of Paradise that flows into my Pond.
And He granted me might, help and awe, which will go before my Ummah for the distance of a month; and He granted me that I will be the first of the Prophets to enter Paradise; and He made the spoils of war pure (that is, lawful) for me and for my Ummah; and He made lawful for us many things regarding which He had been strict with those before us; and He did not impose any hardship upon us."

Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"For one nation among the nations this example has been given: their example is like labourers whom a man hires to work for him the whole day, and he will give each of those labourers one qirat. Then those labourers begin to work until, when it is midday, they become weary. They say to that man: Settle our account. He settles their account, and those labourers' share comes to half a qirat. That man says: Who will work for me until night? He will be given one qirat each. So some other people strike a deal with him and keep working, until, when it is near the time of the Asr prayer, they become weary and say: Settle our account. He settles their account, and those people receive half a qirat each.
That man wants his work to be completed before night falls, so he hires a people on the condition that they complete for him the remaining work by night, and they will receive two qirats each. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I hope, if Allah wills, that you will be the ones who receive two qirats each (that is, you will do little work and receive a greater reward and recompense from the court of Allah Almighty)."
