وَعَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمَّتِي الْبَارِحَةَ لَدُنْ هَذِهِ الْحُجْرَةِ حَتَّى لَأَنَا أَعْرِفُ بِالرَّجُلِ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ أَحَدِكُمْ بِصَاحِبِهِ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا عُرِضَ عَلَيْكَ مَنْ خُلِقَ مِنْهُمْ ، أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَمْ يُخْلَقْ ؟ قَالَ : " صُوِّرُوا لِي ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، لَأَنَا أَعْرَفُ بِالْإِنْسَانِ مِنْهُمْ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ بِصَاحِبِهِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ زِيَادُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Asid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Last night my Ummah was presented before me in this room, until I came to recognise each person among them better than any one of you recognises his companion." One of those present said: O Messenger of Allah, these presented before you were those of them who have already been created; what then do you say about those who have not yet been created? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Their forms were presented before me. By the One in whose hand my soul is, I came to recognise any person among them better than a man recognises his companion."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Ziyad bin al-Mundhir, who is a kadhdhab (liar).
