Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once it was my allotted night, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with me. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came ahead of her. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "O Ali! You and your companions will be in Paradise; however, among those who claim that they love you there will be people who will cast Islam aside and throw it away. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will have a particular name: they will be called 'al-Rafidah'. If you find their time, wage jihad against them, for they will be polytheists." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! What will be the particular sign among them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They will not attend the Friday prayer or the congregation, and they will attack the earliest predecessors."
