Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a man purifies himself (that is, performs ablution), then comes to the mosque, attentive to the prayer, his two recorders (that is, the angels; the narrator is unsure about a word here) write for him ten good deeds for every step he takes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "The one who sits waiting for the prayer is like the one who stands in prayer, and he is counted among those praying from the time he leaves his house until he returns to it."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Some of its chains contain Ibn Lahi'ah, and some of its chains are sahih (authentic); al-Hakim (may Allah have mercy on him) declared this hadith sahih (authentic).

Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no servant who leaves his house in the morning or evening for the mosque except that each step he takes becomes an expiation, and a step (becomes a means of raising him) a degree."
Ahmad, and Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, recorded it; its chain contains Yazid bin Zayd al-Jawjani, from whom no one other than Muhammad bin Ziyad narrated, and the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever walks to the mosque of the congregation, one step erases a sin of his and one step has a good deed recorded for him, (and this happens) both going and returning."
Ahmad, and Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, recorded it. The narrators of Tabarani are the narrators of the Sahih, and among the narrators of Ahmad is Ibn Lahi'ah.
