وَعَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَى غُدُوٍّ أَوْ رَوَاحٍ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ إِلَّا كَانَتْ خُطَاهُ خُطْوَةً كَفَّارَةً وَخُطْوَةً دَرَجَةً " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْجَوْجَانِيُّ لَمْ يَرْوِ عَنْهُ غَيْرُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ وَفِيهِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الْجَوْجَانِيُّ لَمْ يَرْوِ عَنْهُ غَيْرُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ مُوَثَّقُونَ .
Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There is no servant who leaves his house in the morning or evening for the mosque except that each step he takes becomes an expiation, and a step (becomes a means of raising him) a degree."
Ahmad, and Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, recorded it; its chain contains Yazid bin Zayd al-Jawjani, from whom no one other than Muhammad bin Ziyad narrated, and the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
