Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are six people whom I have cursed, and whom Allah Almighty and every prophet whose supplications are answered have cursed: the one who adds to the Book of Allah; the one who denies the decree of Allah; the one who makes lawful what Allah Almighty has made sacred; the one who makes lawful, with regard to my family ('itrah), what Allah Almighty has forbidden; and the one who abandons the Sunnah."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ubaydullah bin Abd al-Rahman bin Mawhab, about whom Ya'qub bin Shaybah said: There is weakness in him. According to one report Yahya bin Ma'in declared him da'if (weak), and according to another he declared him thiqah (trustworthy). Abu Hatim said: He is salih al-hadith (acceptable in hadith). Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy). Its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
