Sayyiduna Amr bin Shaghwa al-Yafi'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are seven people whom I and every prophet whose supplications are answered have cursed: the one who adds to the Book of Allah Almighty; the one who denies the decree ordained by Allah Almighty; the one who makes lawful what Allah Almighty has made sacred; the one who makes lawful, with regard to my family ('itrah), what Allah Almighty has forbidden; the one who abandons my Sunnah; the one who shows favouritism with the fay' wealth; and the one who acts tyrannically through his authority in order to honour the one whom Allah Almighty has disgraced and disgrace the one whom Allah Almighty has honoured."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, who is da'if (weak), and a narrator, Abu Ma'shar al-Himyari, whom I have not seen anyone mention.
