The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best person is the one whose heart is pure and whose tongue is truthful." It was asked: "What is a pure heart?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the God-fearing, pure heart in which there is no sin, no transgression and no envy." It was asked: "Then who comes after him?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who is averse to this world and loves the Hereafter." It was asked: "Then who comes after him?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A believer with good character."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best person in times of trials is a man who holds the reins of his horse, pursuing the enemies of Allah, frightening them while they frighten him; or a man who lives in seclusion in the wilderness, continuing to fulfil the right of Allah that is upon him."
