Hadith Beginning with the Letter Kha (خ)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Five creatures are lawful to kill in the Haram: the snake, the scorpion, the kite, the mouse, and the biting dog."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five harmful creatures which even a person in ihram may kill, and which may be killed within the Haram: the mouse, the scorpion, the snake, the biting dog, and the crow."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There is no expiation for five sins: associating partners with Allah, killing a soul unjustly, slandering a believer, fleeing from the battlefield, and a false oath by which someone's wealth is seized unjustly."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five harmful creatures which may be killed within the Haram: the crow, the kite, the scorpion, the mouse, and the biting dog."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five creatures for the killing of which there is no sin upon a person in ihram: the crow, the kite, the mouse, the scorpion, and the biting dog."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Five things are part of the fitrah (natural disposition): circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, trimming the moustache, clipping the nails, and plucking the armpit hair."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A Muslim has five rights over a Muslim: returning his greeting, accepting his invitation, attending his funeral, visiting him when he is ill, and responding to him when he sneezes and says Alhamdulillah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Five deeds: whoever does them in a single day, Allah records him among the people of Paradise: whoever fasts on the day of Friday, goes to the Friday prayer, visits a sick person, attends a funeral, and frees a slave."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five deeds; whoever does even one of them is under the guarantee of Allah: whoever visits a sick person, or sets out to fight in the path of Allah, or goes to his ruler intending to honour and respect him, or stays sitting in his house so that people are safe from his harm and he is safe from the harm of people."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five deaths such that whoever dies in any one of them is a martyr: the one killed in the path of Allah is a martyr, the one who drowns in the path of Allah is a martyr, the one who dies of a stomach illness in the path of Allah is a martyr, the one who dies of plague in the path of Allah is a martyr, and the woman who dies in childbirth in the path of Allah is a martyr."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"There are five things which no one knows except Allah: Indeed, with Allah alone is the knowledge of the Hour, and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs, and no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knows in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Cover the vessels, tie up the mouths of the waterskins, close the doors, and keep your children with you in the evening, for at that time the jinn spread out and snatch away; and put out the lamps when you go to sleep, for sometimes a mouse may drag the wick and burn the people of the house."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The caliphate of prophethood is thirty years; then Allah Almighty grants kingship to whomever He wills."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of your rulers are those whom you love and who love you, for whom you pray and who pray for you; and the worst of your rulers are those whom you hate and who hate you, whom you curse and who curse you."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who have the best character."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who have the best character, who are gentle and courteous; and the worst of you are those who talk excessively, who boast, and who twist their tongues in speech."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who are best in repaying debts."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those whose lives are longest and whose character is best."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those whose lives are longest and whose deeds are best."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who are gentlest with their shoulders when forming the rows in prayer."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you are those who are best to their wives."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you is the one who is best to his family."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you in the Days of Ignorance are also the best in Islam, provided they gain understanding of the religion."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of you is the one who learned the Qur'an and taught it to others."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Your best names are Abdullah, Abdur-Rahman and al-Harith."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of companions in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his companion, and the best of neighbours in the sight of Allah is the one who is best to his neighbour."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best places are the mosques and the worst places are the markets."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best of the Tabi'in is Uways (al-Qarani)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best horse is one that is black, with a white blaze on the forehead and a white mark on the nose, with white on three legs while the right leg is free of markings; and if it is not black, then a reddish-brown horse with these same markings is the best."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best supplication is the supplication on the day of Arafah, and the best words that I and the prophets before me have said are: 'La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir' (There is no true god except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things)."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best provision is that which is just sufficient."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best testimony is that which the witness gives before he is asked for it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best witness is the one who gives his testimony before he is asked for it."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best travelling party consists of four people, the best detachment consists of four hundred, the best army consists of four thousand, and an army of twelve thousand will never be defeated on account of small numbers."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best dowry (mahr) is the one that is easiest."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best charity is that which leaves the giver well-off; the upper hand is better than the lower hand; and when giving charity, begin with those whom you support."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best charity is that which is given from surplus wealth; and begin with those whom you support."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best deed is that you depart from this world while your tongue is moist with the remembrance of Allah."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best earning is the earning of the worker's own hand, when he works with sincerity."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The best speech is four phrases, and it does not harm you with which of them you begin: 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah), 'wal-hamdu lillah' (and praise be to Allah), 'wa la ilaha illallah' (and there is no god but Allah) and 'wallahu akbar' (and Allah is the Greatest)."
