It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Indeed, I know of a trial compared with which the trials before it will be (as trivial) as a single leap of a hare (nafjat arnab), and I also know the way out of that trial." We said: "What is the way out of it?" He said: "I will hold back my hand until the one who kills me comes."

It is narrated from Ma'mar (may Allah have mercy on him) that one of our shaykhs related that a woman came to one of the pure wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said to her: "Pray to Allah that He heals my hand." She asked: "What has happened to your hand?" She said: "I had parents. My father was very wealthy, generous, virtuous and given to charity, but my mother was completely devoid of these qualities. I never saw her give anything in charity, except that once we slaughtered a cow and she placed a piece of fat in the hand of a poor man and clothed him in an old rag. Then my mother and my father both died. In a dream I saw my father at the bank of a river giving people water to drink. I asked: 'Father! Have you seen my mother?' He said: 'No; has she died?' I said: 'Yes.' So I went to search for her, and I saw her standing naked with nothing on her body except that same old rag, and in her hand was that same piece of fat, which she was striking against her other hand and then licking its trace, saying: 'Oh, my thirst!' I said: 'Mother! Shall I not give you water to drink?' She said: 'Certainly.' So I went to my father and mentioned this to him, took a vessel from there and gave her water to drink. Then someone standing near her called out: 'Whoever gave her water to drink, may Allah paralyse his hand.' Then I woke up, and my hand had become paralysed."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us at a place where he (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us of all the matters that would occur until the Hour. Whoever among us was to remember it remembered it, and whoever forgot it forgot it.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but they did not record it. And Abu Awanah and Aban bin Yazid al-Attar have narrated it from Asim.
Asim bin Abi al-Najud is an Imam whose leadership in the Qur'an and the other sciences is agreed upon; when he is alone in narrating a hadith, it is binding upon us to accept his narration. As for the hadith of Abu Awanah:

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) that when the Day of al-Jara'ah came, Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, blood will surely be shed. A man said: Never, by Allah! Jundub said: I said: Yes indeed, by Allah! The man said: Never, by Allah! It is a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) which he narrated to me. Jundub said: I said: I see you today as a bad companion; you hear me narrating, and you yourself heard it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), yet you do not stop me (from my error)?! He said: What is the matter with you, and why this anger! Jundub said: Then I turned to him and began asking him, and it turned out that he was Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him).
