Qatadah recited this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And if Allah were to extend provision for His servants, they would rebel on the earth; but He sends down in due measure whatever He wills" [Surah al-Shura: 27], and then narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Never does the sun rise except that two angels are sent on its two sides, who make all the people of the earth hear, except jinn and mankind: O people! Come to your Lord, for that which is little and suffices (one's need) is better than that which is abundant and distracts (from the truth). And never does the sun set except that two angels on its two sides call out: 'Allahumma 'ajjil li-munfiqin khalafan, wa 'ajjil li-mumsikin talafan' (O Allah, hasten a replacement for the one who spends, and hasten ruin for the wealth of the one who withholds)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Today everyone in Kufah is well-off; even the lowest in rank among them drinks the water of the Euphrates, sits in the shade and eats bread of wheat. Yet this verse, 'And if Allah were to extend provision for His servants, they would rebel on the earth; but He sends down in due measure whatever He wills' [Surah al-Shura: 27], was revealed concerning the People of the Suffah, because they had said, wishing for the world: If only we had (wealth and goods)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever commits a sin in this world and is punished for it, then Allah is far too just to punish His servant a second time (for the same sin). And whoever commits a sin and Allah conceals it for him and pardons him, then Allah is far too generous to go back to something He has already pardoned."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it. However, Ishaq bin Ibrahim recorded it under this saying of Allah Almighty: "And whatever misfortune befalls you is because of what your hands have earned" [Surah al-Shura: 30].

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that some of his companions came to him while he was afflicted with a bodily illness, and one of them said: "It grieves us greatly to see you in this condition." At this he said: "Do not be saddened by what you see, for this condition is because of a sin, and what Allah pardons is far more than this." Then Imran (may Allah be pleased with him) recited this verse: "And whatever misfortune befalls you is because of what your own hands have earned, and He pardons much." [Surah al-Shura: 30]
