حَدَّثَنَا أبو زكريا العَنبَري، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد السلام، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق، أخبرنا جَرِير، عن الأعمش، عن أبي ظَبْيان قال: كنا نَعْرِضُ المصاحفَ عند عَلْقمة، فقرأ هذه الآية: (إنَّ في ذلك لآياتٍ للمُوقِنينَ) (3) فقال: قال عبد الله: اليقينُ الإيمانُ كلُّه، وقرأ هذه الآية: ﴿إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ﴾ [الشورى: 33]، قال: فقال عبد الله: الصبرُ نصفُ الإيمان (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Zabyan says: We were reviewing the copies of the Qur'an with Alqamah, and he recited this verse: "Indeed, in that are signs for those who have certainty," and said that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Certainty is the whole of faith." And he recited this verse: "Indeed, in that are signs for everyone who is patient and grateful" [Surah al-Shura: 33], and said that Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Patience is half of faith."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرنا أبو زكريا العنبري، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد السلام، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق ابن إبراهيم، أخبرنا الفضل بن موسى، حَدَّثَنَا عيسى بن عُبيد، عن الرَّبيع بن أنس، عن أبي العاليَةِ، قال: حدثني أُبيُّ بن كعب قال: لما كان يومُ أُحدٍ أُصيبَ من الأنصار أربعةٌ وستون، ومنهم ستةٌ فيهم حمزةُ، فمَثَّلوا بهم، فقالت الأنصار: لئِن أَصَبْنا منهم يومًا مثل هذا لنُربِيَنَّ عليهم، فلما كان يومُ فتح مكةَ أَنزل الله: ﴿وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُمْ بِهِ وَلَئِنْ صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لِلصَّابِرِينَ﴾ [النحل: 126] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: On the day of Uhud, sixty-four of the Ansar and six of the Muhajirun were martyred, among whom was Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the polytheists mutilated their bodies. At this the Ansar said: "If we ever get such an opportunity against them, we will take revenge on them beyond this." Then, when the day of the Conquest of Makkah came, Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "And if you retaliate, then retaliate with the like of what you were made to suffer; but if you are patient, it is certainly better for those who are patient." [Surah al-Nahl: 126]
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

حَدَّثَنَا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا الحسن بن علي بن عفَّان العامِري، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن فَصِيل، حَدَّثَنَا الحسن بن صالح بن حيٍّ، عن عبد الله بن محمد بن عَقِيل، عن جابر بن عبد الله: ﴿وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِى إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ﴾ [الشورى: 52]، قال: الصراطُ المستقيم هو الإسلامُ، وهو أوسعُ ما بينَ السماءِ والأرضِ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "And indeed, you guide to a straight path" [Surah al-Shura: 52], that he said: "What is meant by the straight path is Islam, and it is wider than the distance between the earth and the heaven."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرنا أبو بكر الشافعي، حَدَّثَنَا إسحاق بن الحسن، حَدَّثَنَا أبو حُذيفة، حَدَّثَنَا سفيان، عن منصور، عن أبي وائل، عن عبد الله في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِى إلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ﴾، قال: كتابُ الله ﷿ (3). [43 - ومن تفسير سورة الزخرف] ﷽ حَدَّثَنَا الحاكم أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الحافظ إملاءً في شوّال سنة أربع مئة:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And indeed, you guide to a straight path" [Surah al-Shura: 52], that he said: "What is meant by it is the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic (the Qur'an)."
