حدثنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن رِبْح السَّمّاك، حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا سفيان بن سعيد عن عُبيدٍ المُكْتِب، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عمر قال: خَلَقَ الله أربعةَ أشياءَ بيده: العرشَ، وجنّاتِ عَدْنٍ، وآدمَ، والقلمَ، واحتَجَبَ من الخلق بأربعة: بنارٍ وظُلْمة، ونورٍ وظُلْمة (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: Allah Almighty created four things with His own hand: the Throne, the Gardens of Eden, Adam and the Pen. And He veiled Himself from (His) creation with four things: fire, darkness, light and (again) darkness.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرني عبد الصمد بن علي البزَّاز ببغداد، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الحميد الجُعْفي، حدثنا عبد العزيز بن أَبان، حدثنا سفيان الثَّوْري، عن عمرو ابن قيس المُلَائي، عن المِنهال بن عمرو، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: كان لباسُ آدمَ وحوَّاءَ مثل الظُّفر، فلما ذاقا الشجرةَ جعلا يَخصِفانِ عليهما من وَرَق الجنة، قال: ورقُ التِّين (2). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The clothing of Sayyiduna Adam and Sayyidah Hawwa (peace be upon them both) was like fingernails (smooth and shining). Then when they tasted (the fruit of) the tree, they began to fasten leaves of Paradise over themselves. He said: (Those leaves) were of the fig tree.

حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا إبراهيم بن مرزوق، حدثنا أبو داود الطَّيالسي، حدثنا شُعْبة، عن سَلَمة بن كُهَيل قال: سمعت مُسلِمًا البَطِين يحدِّث عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: كانت المرأة تطوف بالبيت في الجاهلية وهي عُرْيانة وعلى فَرْجِها خِرقةٌ، وهي تقول: اليومَ يَبدُو بعضُه أو كلُّهُ … وما بَدَا منه فلا أُحِلُّهُ فنزلت هذه الآية: ﴿قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ﴾ [الأعراف: 32] (1). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: In the days of ignorance a woman would circumambulate the House while naked, with (only) a rag tied over her private parts, and she would say (this verse of poetry): "Today some of it or all of it will show, / and whatever shows of it, I do not make lawful (to anyone)." Then this verse was revealed: "Say: Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah" [Surah al-A'raf: 32].
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim).

أخبرنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن عُقْبة الشَّيباني، حدثنا الهيثم بن خالد، حدثنا عُبيد الله بن موسى، أخبرنا يونس بن أبي إسحاق، عن الشَّعْبي، عن صِلَة بن زُفَرَ، عن حُذَيفة قال: أصحابُ الأعراف قومٌ تجاوَزَت بهم حسناتُهم النارَ، وقَصَّرَت [بهم] سيئاتُهم عن الجنة، فإذا ﴿صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَاءَ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ﴾ [الأعراف: 47]، فبينما هم كذلك إذِ اطَّلَعَ عليهم ربُّك، فيقال لهم: قوموا ادخُلوا الجنةَ، فإني قد غَفَرتُ لكم (2). هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The People of al-A'raf are people whose good deeds saved them from the Fire, but whose sins will keep them from entering Paradise (that is, the two will be equal). So when 'their eyes are turned towards the people of the Fire, they will say: Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people' [Surah al-A'raf: 47], while they are in this state, your Lord will look upon them (with mercy), and it will be said to them: Rise and enter Paradise, for I have indeed forgiven you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

أخبرني محمد بن علي الصنعاني بمكة، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم بن عبَّاد، أخبرنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن عبد الله بن عثمان بن خُثَيم، عن أبي الزُّبير، عن جابر بن عبد الله قال: لما مَرَّ النبيُّ ﷺ بالحِجْر قال: "لا تَسأَلوا الآياتِ، فقد سألها قومُ صالح، فكانت (1) تَرِدُ من هذا الفجِّ وتَصدُرُ من هذا الفجِّ، فعَتَوْا عن أمرِ ربِّهم فعَقَروها، فأخذتهم الصَّيحةُ، فأَهمَدَ اللهُ مَن تحتَ السماءِ منهم إلَّا رجلًا واحدًا كان في حَرَمِ الله" قيل: مَن هو؟ قال: "أبو رِغَالٍ، فلمَّا خرج من الحَرَم أَصابَه ما أصاب قومَه" (2). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by al-Hijr (the land of the people of Thamud), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not ask for miracles, for the people of Salih asked (in the same way). So it (the she-camel) would come by this mountain pass and leave by that mountain pass. Then they rebelled against the command of their Lord and slaughtered it, so a dreadful Blast seized them, and Allah destroyed all of their people who were beneath the sky except one man who was in the Sanctuary of Allah." It was asked: "Who was he?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He was Abu Righal. Then when he left the Sanctuary, the same calamity befell him that had befallen his people."
