Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 3283

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: Allah Almighty created four things with His own hand: the Throne, the Gardens of Eden, Adam and the Pen. And He veiled Himself from (His) creation with four things: fire, darkness, light and (again) darkness.
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
