Women are the majority of the people of Hell

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O assembly of women, give charity, even if it be from your jewellery, for you are the majority of the people of Hell." A woman who was not from the upper class said: "O Messenger of Allah, why are we the majority of the people of Hell?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because you curse a great deal and are ungrateful to your husbands. And despite being deficient in religion and intellect, I have not seen anyone (more than you) who overpowers the minds of men of authority." The people asked: "What is the deficiency of their religion and intellect?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As for the deficiency of intellect, the testimony of two women has been made equal to the testimony of one man. And the deficiency of religion is that one of you passes several days and nights without performing a single prostration to Allah."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated that Mu'awiyah wrote to Sayyiduna Abdur-Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him): "Teach the people what you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." So he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, the transgressors (fussaq) are the people of the Fire." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah, who are the transgressors?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Women." The Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah, are they not our mothers, our daughters and our sisters?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Certainly (they are), but their condition is that when they are given, they are not grateful, and when they are put to trial, they are not patient."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyas bin Abdullah bin Abi Dhubab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not strike the female servants of Allah." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "The women have become emboldened against their husbands." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission to strike them (by way of discipline). The narrator said: After that, seventy women gathered around the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), complaining about their husbands. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those men (who beat women) are not the best among you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. It also has a supporting report (shahid) with a sahih chain from Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr.

It is narrated from Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that men had been forbidden to strike women. Then the men complained about the women to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) allowed them to strike them. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tonight seventy women gathered around the household of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), all of whom had been beaten." Yahya said: I think al-Qasim also said that after this they were told: "The best among you will never strike."
